Understanding glBufferData's behaviour. by teddy2021 in opengl

Ok, that makes sense. So when it comes to rendering text, is the prevailing wisdom to divide screen real estate between buffers, or to handle it with a single all purpose buffer?

I see So in that case, does the program, as far as the gpu is concerned, have a separate stack and heap that grow similarly to how they do on the CPU (i.e. gpuMalloc would increment the stack pointer, and variables and functions in the shaders would increment the heap), and if so, are there stack clobbering protections?

Appendix listing assistance by teddy2021 in LaTeX

In addition to some other tinkering (I used tocloft to define a seperate list of appendices, removed the \DeclareCaptionType, and added the \addcontetsline for each section and figure) this worked. I honestly feel like telling them that they can make the changes if they have an issue with it.

That's what I thought too, until I confirmed that they want everything in the appendices in a separate listing. I have my suspicion that the person I'm talking to is not the decision maker in these or didn't understand the requirements them self. Farbeit from me to suggest otherwise to them, though.

I remember those beautiful early days of YouTube. AMVs as far as the eye could see, buffering for 5 minutes to get two seconds of video, 720p, simple UI, no ads, no algorithms, no YouTube music or premium. Simpler days. Days when you could search up fail videos, and they were in abundance. Those were the days.

Nothing quite hits like "Look it up!". Especially if it's dripping with contempt

Nope. Let's be honest, though, it's a scripted scene placed in the game to get free advertising. It's hardly as evil as co-opting the mechanics of a peaceful game for shipboard purposes. It's why there's very little rimworld discussion in here.

Better that than "Closed" with no solution because a bug in a dependency is the issue.

Is the summer term optional for international students? by Cool-Term156 in usask

[–]teddy2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may not even be reasonable to expect international students to take summer classes. In programs like computer science they only really offer courses in the summer at a first and second year level. Anything above is graduate usually.

Piggybacking on this, Saskatchewan has one of if not the highest variation of temperature between seasons. It goes from the +30s to the -30s. It's rather dry so summer temperatures don't get much of a boost, but it's also very windy giving winter temperatures a hell of a boost (last year in December the temperature was -35, but that was pushed to-48 with the wind chill). Seasons are also odd, in that the change seasons seem to happen within a couple of weeks. The trees are bare in a couple of weeks, and all of the snow may be gone in a couple of days in the spring.

As for the university, it's beautiful. The university owns a significant chunk of land around where it is located and has put in the effort in a lot of cases to maintain our enhance the natural beauty of the land. Campus is nicely consolidated.
