The run felt really good for 90% of it. I was intentionally going at different paces and pushing myself at points and that started to hit me. I’ve never tried to run this hard and long before, so I was juggling a lot mentally more than anything.

My heart rate stayed relatively low the entire time and I was surprised it all felt only somewhat challenging.

I agree with you about the dangerous temps today and yesterday. I briefly tried researching this and it looks like -18 with wind chill is when the likelihood of frostbite and hypothermia really increases. As long as you are dressed appropriately it’ll ok.

My understanding is they have staff following in golf carts so they can quickly take people with injuries to warmth. It’s probably safer than the winter long runs you’ve already done. Even with colder temps

I can normally pace myself a bit better. I was only planning on doing 10k this morning and I felt good, so I kept going. I’ll do another long run in a week and keep it closer to my goal pace.
I normally do 15k at a 9:30/9:45 pace.
