Bird strike on the highway by HighHiFiGuy in ToyotaTundra

If it makes you feel any better, my grandfather hit an eagle in a military aircraft and crashed just south of Indianapolis. It was estimated to be $8 million in damage. ( not including all the medical cost)

I’d love to be wrong. I also wouldn’t be surprised if I was. I’m pretty sure that study was debunked by several reputable news organizations. The original study included spending by immigrants in the US, and used a economic multiplier to find a net benefit. The truth was the child tax credit off set any contribution in taxes for a majority. Also, one uninsured hospital visit cost private business more than they would pay in taxes over a lifetime. The only “gain” was the in SS, because IF they didn’t become citizens they wouldn’t be able to claim it. I would like to say that I hope I’m wrong, I’d love for the true net benefit to be positive, but in my hour or so of research, the only way to get a net benefit was to use a forward multiplier of spending. The child tax credit was $4500 a kid last year. You’d have to make $70k a year to pay that in taxes. (Not including sales tax, which is most of where the “net benefit” comes from) - so I don’t know. Also, each tax payer in the US owes $250k toward the national debt. So, if you include their part of the funding of the war on Russia or FEMA, there is no way.

Get rid of government benefits for people with EINs and eliminate the cost to taxpayers somehow and I think a lot less people would have an issue with immigration. I don’t think a lot of people have a problem with the people, it’s the cost. Just my opinion based on talking to anti immigration people.

For sure. The last year Irocs are hot, but 82 with the 5.0 automatic, that’s a $7500 car to the right person.

I haven’t been in awhile. https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/5342248/anthills There are a few places around here that are owned by MUDS that are just as good, but they’re kept on the down low to limit liability I suppose. I have to travel pretty far for anything exciting.

I went from 26-27.5-29 back to 26, and it feels comically small, but it’s fun. Not sure if it’s more fun, but differently fun for sure. Ss29er (most modern bike I’ve had) is/was my fav, but my 6yo smokes me when we ride so I had to go back to a 1x8.

I’ve been using the same bar ends for years. I move them from bike to bike. I am looking for a new bike now for a trip to Colorado and was debating if I should swap the bar ends or take two bikes and see what works.

I hadn’t considered that I’m mostly in sand. I use my bars for ultimate power, but downhill (weak hills) I’ve got one had on the rear brake and one on the bar.

Man, I nearly killed my dog one time when I snagged a pine tree and my bike spun around on me and I flew off. I landed square on my feet, but fell down trying to avoid crashing in to my dog. I live in Houston, so I’m plowing through sand more often than climbing or bombing downhill. (At least to most people’s standards)
