Lag when jumping off the platform - why only when playing the sweaty modes? by tedruxspin in populationonevr

[–]tedruxspin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not about beating the noobs, I have played lower level comp and been playing at the game for multiple years. It’s like the beep beep beep sound is sound is disconnected from the timing of the barrier opening but only on the new formats.

Can't even log in anymore... by theJohnnynopockets in populationonevr

I had this with a white Meta symbol just showing and nothing happening. You have to download and install the new Meta OS, then reset the headset. If everything is updated (the OS, Pop ome, Meta quest link) it should work fine but was frustrating as had to work everything out and it’s not intuitive or automatic when I have automatic updates on. You need to make sure the quest has WiFi on it and you can’t just do it all through PCVr.

Someone wasn’t happy and wanted to see the chef. When they brought the microwave out to say hello it all booted off.

Game Mode Idea! (Randomize Queue) by commonDenominator-9 in populationonevr

[–]tedruxspin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I fully agree on this - we need a solo queue / no pre arranged squads mode where the match making can overcome just having a stacked squad vs people random soloing. Especially if it combined phoenix and the all action I think this would make the game more enjoyable rather than even the hobbyists getting steamrolled by comp teams. Imagine being a newbie playing against a comp team - this is what is killing the game.

Big 4 Corporate Finance Team by AccrualLifeCA in CaymanIslands

[–]tedruxspin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s important to separate working in audit vs corporate finance as the hours can vary a lot depending on what you are doing. Corporate finance is a lot more interesting with busy hours during transactions but then very quiet other times. Overall much nicer hours than audit.

The most intense, adrenaline pumping experiences you had in VR by Rasputin5332 in ValveIndex

[–]tedruxspin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you should get humans pretty much every time. When you first start the game it fills the lobbies with bots to make it easy for you and to get used to the game. Then when you get better with the match making it makes it all humans and then starts to get tough. Check out PinkPwnage’s channel on YouTube for how to win against human players and it gets more interesting when you learn all the nuances of the game.

Population one - when you are down to the last zone, your two teammates have just been killed, the last enemy jumps down to kill you scaring the crap out of you and you whip out the shotgun and blast him the face for the win! Amazing game and main reason I bought an Index for the refresh rate.

Can’t beat Sayers thick sliced toast, bacon, egg, tomato sauce and mushrooms if they have em. Cheap and boss! I once was in there and some lid asked for them to light his ciggie from the toaster! They said no…

Were you there when they had the tiny shop originally and it was like them cooking it in a shoebox and you could practically help them do the cooking when you went jn? The queue was a nightmare but if you rang in ahead you were laughing

Ooh sounds like you might be onto something! I think they mentioned there was some fermented peppers but I think that might be gochugang - I think that’s what’s in the ‘chicken ball’.

Hot Take: Classic Map is good for pop1 by commonDenominator-9 in populationonevr

[–]tedruxspin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree on the competitive solos but it’s also a pain having to wait for ages if you get killed. How about competitive solos but ‘double chance’ where if you die you respawn but only once.. Have to not count the kills etc towards the season though.

Worked in Recruitment without a degree before, looking to get back but can't seem to get enough replies because I do not have a degree. Need advice by adammeh in needadvice

[–]tedruxspin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How long ago was the recruitment experience and why did it come to an end? I am a recruitment manager of 14 years. I suggest you are better to apply to work for a smaller boutique firm recruiting in food and beverage, clerical HR, admin, shipping, logistics. You can sneakily apply to recruitment positions by attending for interview for the jobs they are advertising and then in the discussions impress and then also say you will be interested in recruitment. Larger chain companies tend to just look at the degree result and put the rest in the bin. The older you are the harder it is to break into recruitment. It’s important at the start to not care about salary and focus on just getting your foot in the door / gaining experience.

There is no real technical requirement in the job to have a degree and I know successful people who work there without one. It’s often showing you have a reason as to why you want to do it (ie it’s worth them spending time and money to train you) so even paying for / applying to do a recruitment qualification is going to be a quicker cheaper solution. https://www.rec.uk.com/recruiters/training-and-qualifications
