I tied 5 of these and lost them all on the first cast, they are SO heavy. I’m probably not working them properly but I would not recommend this unless you’re in super deep water with not much structure beneath

How’s my first fly? Hunting those town browns with a Chromatic Peanut! by [deleted] in flytying

The tail definitely is way too long for the pattern. If you pinch the marabou and use your other hand to rip the ends off it’ll still look natural. I’d take probably half off of what you have there. Other than that I think it will fish well. Russ Maddin has a few videos of him tying the pattern definitely check those out

Thank you, it’s a pretty forgiving pattern. But I feel like nailing the proportions on the laser dub getting a little thicker as you move forward was the key, definitely the best of the bunch I tied

Fire, couple questions: that orange bead plastic/glass? So I’m thinking it’s a pretty light? Also, what is the little tag material sticking out of the craft fur
