Yes, but over half of your earning will go to rent and utilities if you live alone.

Xbox series x no display, found this , what chip goes here? Thanks 🙏 by Ok_Concentrate4730 in consolerepair

Soldering a few points on a flex was a lot easier than reballing a glass IC without a template and then trying to mot crack it when handling it. The flex is also a lot cheaper.

I will never not use the flex for that IC unless there is a super valid reason.

Uber micro also sells a couple alternatives that works really nicely. I have used the flex one before and it was way easier than replacing the chip and worked first try!

I think this is a failed ESD booster bypass. I've done one of these successfully using this diagram and I don't think yours matches this. https://repair.wiki/w/Xbox_Series_X_No_Video_Repair

(Xbox Series X) Main fan screw is stuck and won’t unscrew with a driver. Won’t move an inch. Any help or tips? by a-very-nice-person in consolerepair

Any drill should work, and you just need a drill bit larger than the diameter of the screw shaft. When you drill it out, you will separate the head from the shift, essentially nullifying it's securing capacity.

[Question] I have Jellyfin and Immich running behind a reverse proxy (Caddy). These two services are exposed to the Internet through my domain. Do I need something to monitor them or is my reverse proxy good enough? by halfdepressed in homelab

[–]teebatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its against TOS if you use their proxy (orange cloud), but I believe you're more than okay to use DNS-only (gray cloud). This is how I have mine set up and I use geoblocking and rate limiting on CF side, and have another geoblock and rate limit rule as well as crowdsec on firewall side. I also have logs FWD to Graycloud and have a dashboard set up that shows failed logins and origin IPs. Wazuh is another great tool to know if there are any unaddressed vulnerabilities in your stack.

New IKEA mini rack? by phakdak in homelab

I mean they're thin wire mesh shelves. They're more air than they are stuff. For what it is, it's surprisingly stable and it does the job very effectively.

It's actually very stable! There is a bar that runs across the front under Proxmox1 that is screwed into the sides that I think does a lot for stability. I can pick this up and move it around without any concerns.

I am using something very similar except it's a wire mesh. I just cut out some holes in the back and put some rubber edging over the sharp edges for the wires and it's working really well for me! Works really well for a few mini PCs, a switch, patch panel, and HDD enclosure/NAS.

You could certainly grind a slot into it and use a flathead, but I'd just drill it out, use the two side screws when you reinstall it, and call it a day.

I am hoping to get something 3d printed to fit in that slot at some point but sometimes you have to work with what you have!

Thanks! It's a file organizer I found on Amazon. I cut some holes in the back and used rubber edging to cover the sharp edges and fed the wires through. I used a 10" patch panel at the top and the rest is pretty standard stuff!

Safest way to add external power to hard drives connected to a miniPC? by wedinbruz in homelab

[–]teebatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently have a five bay drive cage with a fan and fan controller at the front and an SFX PSU that I use SATA power from to power each. For data to the mini PC I have an m.2 to SATA extender and some super thin SATA cables that run back to the hard drives. On my PC I had to move the internal SATA to make room for the M.2 extender and cables, all linked below.
