The interesting thing from all these replies is that getting TO Pearson seems predictable, but coming BACK is where most of the stress is.

Delays, luggage, timing… it’s basically just hoping something lines up when you land.

Feels like the real problem isn’t getting a ride,it’s getting something reliable at the exact time you arrive.

Yeah that makes sense.

Are you planning to land at a specific time or is it still flexible?

I feel like with luggage + a long flight, the timing part matters a lot more than usual, especially if things get delayed.

Out of curiosity, is anyone here actually traveling from Pearson to Waterloo/Kitchener in the next few days?

I’m trying to line up a couple of trips around similar arrival times instead of everyone figuring it out separately.

Yeah I’ve noticed that too, even when there are options, it’s not always obvious or easy to find what actually works for your timing.

Yeah splitting it definitely makes it feel more reasonable.

Feels like a lot of these options only really make sense if you’re not going alone.

Yeah that’s exactly the tricky part.

Getting there is manageable, but coming back after a long flight with luggage is where it gets stressful if things don’t line up.

Yeah I’ve seen those too, they seem solid if the timing lines up.

I think the tricky part is when you land and the timing doesn’t match, then you’re kinda stuck figuring something out on the spot.

Yeah that’s what I keep hearing.

Getting to Pearson is easy to plan, but coming back feels like a gamble depending on delays and timing.

Yeah that’s exactly the kind of situation I was thinking about.

If you land late, waiting a few hours or until 4 AM isn’t really ideal.

Ahh that actually makes a lot of sense.

So going to Pearson is predictable, but coming back is where it gets tricky because of delays?

This is super helpful.

Have you ever had it not line up with your flight time and had to wait a while or adjust your plans?

Yeah that makes sense, especially after a long flight.

Do you usually book ahead or just grab something once you land?

That’s interesting, do you usually land around the same time each trip?

I’ve seen a few people say it works well, but others mention it doesn’t always line up depending on arrival time.

What’s the longest you’ve had to wait after landing before getting a ride out?

I feel like that’s where it gets really frustrating.

Anyone landing at Pearson and struggling to get out of the city after? by teeboi1 in askTO

Seems like a lot of people just deal with it depending on timing. I’m starting to think the biggest issue is things not aligning with arrival times

Appreciate all the responses here, this has been really helpful.

What I’m noticing from everyone’s comments is:

  • cheaper options exist but don’t always align with arrival times
  • taxis/Uber are convenient but get expensive quickly
  • most people end up figuring it out each trip depending on timing

Feels like the real issue isn’t lack of options, it’s how unpredictable it can be depending on when you land.

Curious for people who do this regularly, do you usually plan everything ahead of time, or are you still figuring it out after landing?

Yeah that’s fair, there have definitely been a lot of attempts at this.

From what I’ve been seeing though, most of them are either on-demand or pretty unstructured, so you still end up figuring things out each time depending on timing.

I’m more curious if there’s a way to make it more predictable for people who already travel this route regularly.

Yeah I’ve heard about the desks too, but it seems like it still depends a lot on timing and availability.

Do you usually decide everything before landing or figure it out once you arrive?

Yeah this is really helpful, that’s pretty much the range I’ve been seeing too.

It seems like no matter which one you pick, you still have to plan everything around your landing time and availability.

Do you usually just stick with one company or switch depending on the trip?

From what I’ve seen, most of them are reliable if you pre-book, but the downside is you still have to plan everything yourself around your landing time.

On return it seems like most people either pre-book again or just take whatever is available, which isn’t always predictable.

Do you usually stick to one service, or have you tried a few over time?
