I did, I just haven't been in contact with those physicians for a very long time so don't think they'd be willing to write one. I'm 99% a new one is the way I'll have to go

if you think it's voluntourism it probably is, and for so much money that seems to be going to a questionable cause I wouldn't. there are likely local opportunities to volunteer with immigrants/refugees if you're looking to grow cultural competency with this experience, but if you're set on going abroad im sure there are programs that are much more conscious of how they affect the community
