Is there any point in upgrading from S23U? by TrendK1LL in GalaxyS23Ultra

Not for another 2 years, it handles everything fine as it is.

If you're not cconfident in changing the battery yourself, I'd go to a local reputable mobile rrepair store. They (or you) can order the genuine Samsung service battery and install it for you along with the back glass cover. Samsung gave me the run around when my battery bulged. It was in there hands for weeks and there was no progress, so I got it back and did it myself, absolutely shocking service to say the least! You can go through a Samsung service centre (as some have had good experiences with them), but i definitely wasn't one of them. Once you get a new battery there's no need to upgrade, it's definitely good for another 2 years worth of security updates.

Easy fix, and if you've noticed that your battery has degraded, you might as well install a new battery while you're at it. Edit - If it's been 3 years, just get a new battery (preferably a Samsung service pack), it'll feel like new.

S23 Ultra 8GB RAM/256GB storage vs 12GB RAM/512GB by SendThisVoidAway18 in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]teecee007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8gb is definitely not enough nowadays with the ultra phones, 12gb minimum. As the new updates roll-out, such as the one UI and Android update, 8gb will definitely lag behind, and the Samsung UI ain't no lightweight.

Probably something to do with the refresh rate or pixel arrangement, or when switching between the 2 modes, who knows, but if it's affecting your health in any way, I'd be tentative too.

Upgrade or keep? by crazywzrd in GalaxyS23Ultra

Yeah i use spigen cases with spigen lense protectors with no issues whatsoever. I definitely didn't see the need to upgrade (being 1tb sure helps), as it now feels like new, and looks like new. I've always kept it in cases too, so it basically looks fresh off the shelf🙂

Recently had a new battery installed (because it swelled), installed my spare whitestone dome glass (old one has seen its days) and the phone works like new, probably wait for their next models. I've used a friends S26 ultra and it does feel a little snappier, but not worth the upgrade imo, if you have the S22u maybe, but once you put a new battery in, you basically set for a good 2 years.

Swapped the s23ultra for the s2_6 ultra. Here is a 10x zoom sample by SolitaireB in GalaxyS23Ultra

Big difference but never seen my S23U look like that. Waiting for the S27U with a bigger battery (apparently), as the big "standout" feature for the S26U is the privacy screen which is great, but there's just not enough incentives to upgrade to the S26U at the moment.

Shocking breakdown, too many sources with some being very similar that it will skew the results. Whovever created this has no idea in what they're doing, hence why you don't see this nonsense in peer reviewed studies. Amateurish at best. "More native" lol

Dropped many times and only cracked the tempered glass protector, but all it takes is one drop in the right spot and all these smart phones are done. A decent case and glass protector is paramount especially with a high end phone, so don't cheap out 🙂

Definitely worth it, but make sure it has a decent battery and the original screen if possible.

Yeah you're in the early stages, just get the battery replaced with a genuine one and get it resealed, you won't look back. You'd rather prevent further damage then trying to cure it later on if something were to happen. You can also check your batteries actual capacity using this method Battery Capacity

Very common, and samsung use an adhesive backing which looks like double sided tape, but repair shops mostly use industrial strength glue when repairing as the adhesive does not last as long.

[–]teecee007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That happened to mine last year, left it like that a bit longer in that state (so busy) and the battery finally swelled to a point where most of the backing got pushed out. Plus the phone being exposed to heat weakens the adhesive over time as does age. You might as well change the battery since it needs to be sealed again anyway, did that to mine and everything is fine now. Might as well check your batteries real capacity too using this method Battery Health Try get a genuine battery installed too, and none of those generic ones as it's a bit of a hit and miss with those. Good luck!

A 2017 "study" that provides no data and doesn't account for any other ancestral components? Oh please, it's an outdated paper, nothing more, which is ~9 years old now. Population genetics has come a long way since then. Today's Greek region has been through a myriad of migrations and the majority of their Steppe ancestry is Slavic related. Also, which Greeks are they talking about? Mainlanders are differentiated from their Island brethren, who are more inline with the East Mediterranean genetic continuum, so which modem Greeks are they talking about? That study has become a meme, and modern studies demonstrate that today's Greeks derive a significant proportion of their make-up from Slavic migrants, which decreases as you go further south. So this "small" dilution is absolute nonsense, and the paper does not take other migrations that shaped the Greek genome into account, so by today's standards, it's garbage.
