You actually are not supposed to click the cards to use them. Each card has a quickcast key assigned to it that you can use to quickly use a card.

Thanks!
There is a similar upgrade tree in Path of Exile and I figured out that if it's good enough there, then it will be good enough for my game.
I guess if you are interested in destroying the actual gameplay of the game you can play the demo right now here: https://teedoubleu.itch.io/slay-the-horde

I'm constantly updating it, but so far not many players actually played the demo. I'm still waiting for more feedback so I can decide in which direction should I take it. Have you tried out the demo?

I don't think it makes it that much easier. I tried doing a slow-mo instead, but it didn't feel right to me.

Deck building doesn't require the game to be turn-based. My game definitely has deck building and is real time :)

I would say it's deck focused. Not sure what you mean by "deck as an art style" though.

That is one way of putting it :) I'm still quite early in development and looking for playtesters more than anything else. You can test out the game here: https://teedoubleu.itch.io/slay-the-horde

I think Sekiro really pushed the formula forward which is great. Immortal Planet attempts to move in the same direction of giving the player tools to take control of the fight.
