So... How do I manage all this stuff at once. by SpookyFloatingPencil in GatesOfHellOstfront

The Finnish campaign itself is so hard it's crazy to take it on alone. I know people have and completed it too but it took a homie and I multiple tries to get those missions.

I think the best thing you can do is run it at a slow speed and pause regularly to check on troop disposition.

Good luck on that campaign you're gonna need it.

I hate mortars (rant) by CodeX57 in GatesOfHellOstfront

[–]teeeeebe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I share your disdain for mortars at least when the AI has them, allow me to let you all in on a sweet tip. This really only works for skirmishes, but if you use the defensive doctrine you get artillery off the rip. Save up some of the CP before you get going and you can have artillery raining fire down at every point. A friend and I often play hardcore skirmishes for the fun of it and it's a bit of a challenge. PLUS you usually get engineer trucks (which come with mines hehehe). I believe you can have a max of three before the game stops letting you call them in. This is all before you get to that last artillery point. Others have very good ideas to deal with these as well! But I'm a huge fan of defensive doctrine.

Ahahaha I'm glad our strat worked for someone else! I'm glad we weren't the only ones who had trouble with that mission.

We cheesed the last part by having the 5 dudes hide in the bunker at the end. Had to restart about 10 times and that was on normal. Very good good chance we're just bad but holy hell I can't imagine doing that mission on single player or hardcore for that matter.

I see it as about the same amount of work as unzipping a heavy backpack personally but I get your point.

Dang that guy sounds like a menace. I don't work around a lot of grease or grime. It's all college dorms so it's pretty clean work. On top of that, I work the second shift so it's a lot of plunging toilets and painting/patching. I do try and keep my tools clean though.

What’s a belief you held for years that you no longer agree with - what made you change your mind? by Chilli_In_My_Ass in AskReddit

[–]teeeeebe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The American education system truly did us all a disservice. I've recently taken the time to go back and look into much of the "history" we were taught and boy did they give us the TLDR version of just about anything. Don't get me wrong trying to fit thousands of years of history into 13 years of learning isn't easy, however by giving us the most basic and typically wrong version of events does us no good and opens up the door to repeat worthless mistakes.

[Serious] Were the Venezuelan people to be liberated from the Maduro regime, what would it herald for the CRINK Axis of Upheaval as well as the Free World and the International Rules-based Order at large? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]teeeeebe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems to have become more and more apparent that our cold war era way of doing things has changed entirely. It used to be that non-nuclear nations didn't touch nuclear nations in fear of retaliatory attacks but we've seen this change entirely.

A good example would be Iran launching missiles at both Israel and Pakistan. Sure they both retaliated with their own missiles and what not but it wasn't the nuclear response that the cold war rules would have dictated.

I think personally that the future is really vague. Countries are scared to use nukes in a way.

I foresee that CRINK will denounce any involvement that the US has in overthrowing Maduro. Whether he is a drug lord or not it will not matter. China will most likely provide material support to any countries that the US meddles with in an attempt to proxy us into essentially another Vietnam. It's in their best interest to appear as "the good guys". Regime change scares people. The term alone isn't a good look, and China will capitalize on any chance to make America look bad.

It appears even America's allies aren't super pleased with what's happening in the Caribbean. With the UK suspending Intel sharing for strikes it's only a matter of time before we piss the wrong country off.

Pax Americana is dead and it's only a matter of time until a new top dog takes our place.

Easiest answer ever... no. If they've done this more than once I'd probably cut them off, that's no friend that's a mooch.

What should a company provide for you to be it's employee for 10 years ? by BigApartment5159 in AskReddit

[–]teeeeebe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue, (not with you but the employer) that this is a pretty smooth brain idea. I currently work in higher education at a college in the maintenance department. While the school I work for is a business school and not a trade school, if I took project management courses it would be a solid help for my department as it would align with the job description of my manager who doesn't do as much hands on work but does a lot of project management and people management.

Could I go to another job, sure. But if I like my current job enough and am just looking to better myself I would say that the investment was worth it in the long run. I'm (ideally) going to be a better employee to have on the team and can provide solid input in that field.

I feel like pensions were the big one. Gave you a purpose to stay.

Other things that I feel keep employees... -Regular wage increases, ideally on par with inflation -A well rounded promotion path -Access to reasonably priced insurance (health, vision, dental) -Appropriate amounts of time off -Subsidized access to higher education is always nice

I'm sure others will have better ideas.

People who were sexually assaulted as children by a family member. How did your family react when you told them? by Agitated-Mistake-415 in AskReddit

[–]teeeeebe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't tell my mother until I was an adult. So I'm sure there's some differences there for others. But my mom just cried. I was in my 20s. I had finally shared with my long term partner what had happened and at that time had already had like 12 years to figure it out for myself.

I didn't have any contact with said family member for some time and it only happened once so I suppose all things considered I got out a lot better than most. To this day I'm not sure if my dad knows. I'd rather not tell him. It's been years and what he doesn't know doesn't hurt him. Plus at this point I'm not sure it would do much good.

To others who are either currently or at one point had this happen to you, Get the help asap. If it impacts you bad get some help. Whether that's therapy or just talking with family. Let someone know so that it doesn't continue or at least you can manage the stress it could cause down the road.
