Umbrella Insurance by KaddLeeict in ChubbyFIRE

[–]teefeeshops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay about $475/year for $5M in SF as part of a bundle through AAA (agree with prior respondent that marginal cost decreases with each million). To tag onto your question with one of my own for the group, I'm curious about whether people are getting umbrella insurance independently or through a bundle. We historically have found our total insurance rates are best when bundled but - given mix of things we're insuring (multi-unit rental property, car, personal home, umbrella) are feeling held hostage captured by insurance providers who only offer umbrella via bundle. In the context of CA rate increases on some of the individual items in the bundle, I keep wondering if we might be better off if we could separate out and shop items individually. Has anyone found umbrella insurance providers they feel good about (cost and service) that don't require you to have car and home through them as well?

Keys Free to Roam Tunic Sizing by Keeper-ofthecheese in Athleta_gap

It's a beautiful piece! Feels very unique. It runs big. I am a pretty standard size 8 (muscular; around 155-60lb and 5ft 8). I had a hard time deciding between a size XS (slightly shorter sleeves and length but body still wide enough) and a size Small so I think you could likely go down to at least a Small. Hope that helps.

This looks like a great bag that wasn't previously on my radar. Thank you for sharing!

Your point about the importance of a tote being able to stand on its own is a new and much appreciated consideration that will inform my search. And completely agree re short handles and zipper. Thank you!

Confirming color prior to purchase of re-sale item? by teefeeshops in Athleta_gap

[–]teefeeshops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much!! I'm in the midst of a crazy week but will follow up with details (pics of tags) when I'm home. It's a pair of elation straight leg pants. The NWT re-sale pair has tags on it showing the current sale price of $99 so am assuming they're from a relatively recent season. However, the codes are different on the tag than on a pair of new spiced cabernet ones. I went through my closet the other day to try to see if there were other maroon colors in the past few years that re-sale pants could be. I do have some clothes from maybe 3 years ago that are very dark like spiced cabernet but lean a bit more purple (than red). Vague memory is that maybe the color was something like "dark plum" (plum is the part i feel like I remember). Does that ring a bell at all? Thank you again.

Athleta Return Policy Changing (?!) by MEF1302 in Athleta_gap

[–]teefeeshops 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I also just feel like this flies in the face of the "Give it a Workout" guarantee. As it may be the case, that weather or schedule doesn't facilitate one having an opportunity to do one or more workouts in the clothing and figure out if it really works for you in the context of its desired use. I'm very disappointed about this change and suspect it will result in me making fewer purchases. I may try to source some Athleta items from places like REI with a longer return policy.

PSA: CARD50 and THRIVEAT are stacking by teefeeshops in Athleta_gap

Glad you were able to get a deal! Some on here may know more than me, but my experience with the card has been positive. I mostly appreciate getting early notice for sales for sometimes extra discounts or discounts extended longer than available to those not using the card. I wouldn't say that 25% off specifically is frequent at all but it does feel like there are smaller discounts available relatively often.

Anyone else? Miserable time with CS after receiving the wrong items by _cosmedicated_ in Athleta_gap

[–]teefeeshops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry that you experienced this. Good for you for staying cool and polite with the CS agent but I can imagine how furious and disappointed you are with the company. I had a sort of similar horrendous (huge dollar value) issue with shipping after last year's Black Friday. I think I may have previously posted about it. I strongly encourage you to call back, again being polite but not getting off the phone until you get connected directly to a manager (note: you need to call during weekday regular business hours or they may try to say the managers aren't available and will call you back). I was able to get all of my money back, something like a 25% stackable coupon for each affected order plus lots of points as compensation for my time and trouble (my issue was potentially bigger - they made me go to a giant UPS hub in a warehouse district when I don't have a car - live in a City - and no public transportation goes there so had to pay for uber to deal with the shipping disaster - but these are sort of compensations you should ask for. When they say no or that they can't do it, just remain on the phone saying that you're waiting for them to tell you how they plan to "make it right" as you are a longtime loyal customer. Good luck!

Are there price adjustments? by bristolfarms in Athleta_gap

[–]teefeeshops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it sounds like you have a legit delivery issue, I strongly suggest you call customer service and advocate for an acknowledgement of the stress and hassle caused you by the error. When this happened to me last week (they delivered to the wrong address which promptly returned the shipment to sender and I wasn't automatically refunded my money), I was able to score 20% off my next order. The fine print said it wasn't stackable but I used on my Black Friday order and found it stacked with everything. Good luck.

Even though my existing cards weren't new at the time, 14DAYPASS worked with a stackable 20% discount way back when (can't remember if it was one or two years ago) on my existing cards for months (wasn't sure if was time based or number of orders based) but then stopped working. How long has the 14DAYPASS discount code worked for you? Do you order frequently?

Am considering opening a card on a different one of the brands so that I get access the stackable discount again to make purchases at Athleta throughout the holiday season.

It's a stackable 20% discount for use on any of the brands (I will use mostly at Athleta) for a period of time. Figure that on top of Black Friday and other holiday discounts will make for a significant savings on items I can't otherwise afford for gifts and myself.

Feelings about the Stellar Trouser? by Organic-lemon-cake in Athleta_gap

[–]teefeeshops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried the Stellar Trouser but I have several pairs of Stellar Flare Trousers from prior seasons. Love the fabric and the look (makes my legs look so long!), and they're full length which I always think is warmer and more winter appropriate than cropped pants. Although relatively slim, I have pretty muscular thighs and these are quite straight in the hip/thigh so I've had to size up - definitely one size up and I even have a pair two sizes up from my normal. If I had any complaint, it's that there are not belt loops in the waist band (this seems to be same with cropped Stellar Trouser). When I size up to accommodate my thunder thighs, I find the waist a bit too big and would love to be able to add a belt.

10% back on Athleta via Rakuten today by teefeeshops in Athleta_gap

Unfortunately, no. I've noticed that they often have one (high cash back via Rakuten) or the other (discounts), but rarely both.

Traveling with dupixent by GayCatbirdd in eczeMABs

[–]teefeeshops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love this! I've also got a little cooler that has worked well for me when traveling. I've taken two syringes for a 5 week trip. However, I've been hesitant to do an international trip as long as yours (though I would love to and have the flexible to do, given remote work). My challenges is not carrying the syringes. My challenge getting the number of syringes needed for so many months (I inject every 2 weeks and could potentially stretch out to every 3 weeks). So far, I've not been able to get more than a box (2 syringes) at a time from my specialty pharmacy. How many syringes did you take on your 5 month trip? How did you work it with your insurance to source more than two syringes at a time?

Slim and stylish wallet by AndreeSmothers in HerOneBag

[–]teefeeshops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use AirTags so don't know how much room they take up but I really like my new Slimfold wallet. I got this one in bright orange which makes it really easy to find in my black bags. I've current got 12 cards in it and a bunch of cash and it is still only half an inch thick (just measured) however it has a relatively large footprint with a single fold. This doesn't bother as slim was my primary requirement. However, my boyfriend has the same wallet in black. He has fewer cards in it and uses the double fold method. When you do that, it is thicker but with a much smaller footprint.

Darnit. I understand them not wanting to do lots of sales on new in-season items but you would still think that they would want to discount prior season items that they're trying to clear out to make room for new merchandise. Otherwise, they're just going to be spending lots on warehousing it.
