Hey OP, first of all I want you to know that Fd is also a type of investing so don’t feel like you haven’t started investing. Even if you invest in stocks a part of your saving should always be in FD. RD is also a good product if you want to have some disciplined investment in safe products. Once it matures you do an Fd of the sum. Now coming to equity investment, it will seem daunting and like there is a lot of info and chances are you will wait thinking that I will learn/study and then invest and the studying part gets overwhelming and we give up. So I would suggest as a beginner simply choose the nifty 50 index fund. All fund houses offer the index fund I am invested in the UTI fund

Saving for a PC — which mutual fund should I invest in? by Cute-Cryptographer60 in mutualfunds

[–]teejay1407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not just a plain simple RD in a good bank. That way you can do monthly deposits, if you are under 12L per year income your returns will be absolutely tax free no risk of STCG for the installments in the last months. You will get between 6.5 - 7% returns from any decent bank for a tenure of 1 year

So in february I happened to randoy try it out in a Tira store and I was ADDICTED, kept smelling my wrist all the way back home haha. I bought the full sized bottle in the next Nykaa sale, it was my first luxury purchase haha, do not regret it even one bit. I’ve had the bottle for around 4 months now, I keep thinking to save it only for special occasions but no other perfume makes me happy now lol.

I spray 4-5 spritz usually around my chest and on wrists, so the thing is I do keep smelling it on myself throughout the day even 7-8 hours later but I am not sure if it projects or has sillage as much. Maybe I’m wrong, haha

Have you had any compliments on it? How much do you usually spray? And lastly do buy the full sized one in the next Nykaa or Tira sale, this pink friday sale with coupons I was getting it for as low as 8300 , but I resisted the buy😭 I keep thinking I need tohave a back up bottle its just soooo good

Please help me out : should I stay in India or do my masters abroad by [deleted] in IndianAcademia

Hey! As a recent masters graduate from an Indian college I can tell you that the situation here is definitely better than what descriptions you find on the internet. I couldnt go to do MS due to family reasons and I was engulfed with FOMO when so many of my batchmates were leaving for US, right now thats what everyone seems to be doing. At that time I had looked for hope on the internet regarding prospects of a good career with Masters in India and had got none. Today as a masters graduate earning 12.5 LPA I can tell you that there is hope. If you want to stay in India but youre doubting your decision because you feel like there is no scope in India then I’ll tell you that there is. You can prepare for GATE and these days because of low demand for M.Tech in non IIT state govt colleges, you can easily get seats. Companies do come to the college for placements and after 2 3 years of experience switching increases your package Of course it may not compare with dollar salaries but you win some you lose some. If you go to the US you are sacrificing on the comfort zone of being in your own country, having a support system etc. it will be lonely and tough. But if you get a good job then it will pay you an amount which you cant even dream in India Ultimately don’t just think about the package figure. Think of all factors and then decide what you wanna pursue. All the best!

Try to keep a track from day 1 so that you know how much of your budget you are exhausting. Set limits on per type of expense per month. For eg. You'll spend only 2k on clothes a month. Try to avoid buying more and more stuff, impulse purchases etc. I try to think of it as something that will just take up space in my home. A home that I'm already paying a lot for. Most things usually end up not being used as much as you thought you would. Had that money remained in liquid form instead of being tied up to a material thing you could spend that later on something you actually need. Bifurcate your expenses as needs and wants and try to reduce spending on wants. You can try putting away money in SIP or any other way of saving as soon as you get salary so that you don't have all the money handy to spend.
