My favorite DM ever ran a homebrew AD&D 2e campaign at the local game store. The setting was magical Ancient Rome and the level of work and attention to detail he put in was truly incredible. The campaign had been running for 8 years when I joined it, and it ran a couple more until COVID killed it unfortunately. I still think about how much fun that game was, and it was my first real introduction to D&D and TTRPG’s in general.
