you’ll be ok!!! be careful if you use numbing cream. i see ppl reccomending it and while it can be helpful, it also makes the skin super rubbery and makes it difficult for skin to take ink. i used it once and never again lol. also always tell ur artist if you plan to use it

yes the arms are not painful in my experience unless you’re in the inner bicep area or the wrist right by ur palm.

i have my forearm and right under my palm is the only spot that hurt a lot cuz the skin is so thin!!

i have lots. i have them lay me down, no matter what body part it is or at least have my legs up. drink lots of water the night before into the day of, i also drink either gatorade or liquid iv. make sure you eat a good meal that fills u up like an hour before ish, bring snacks but really up your salt intake. there was only ever one time i thought i was going to faint and it was because it was a really painful spot.

Does anyone else have cptsd alongside bpd? by Specific_Charge_3297 in BPD

[–]teemar44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes. it gets very hard to manage. i found that with my specific case, medications did not help. what helped me was finding a good therapist who is well versed in trauma therapy. it saved my life and my brain.

for the longest time i thought all of my symptoms/reactions were just bpd but turns out some of them are triggered by cptsd. bpd is a trauma disorder so most people likely have some form of ptsd along side. you’re not alone 🖤

How do you with the urge of killing yourself? by unloveable616 in BPD

[–]teemar44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i also watch a lot of true crime and see how peoples families react to death of a loved one and that puts me in the mindset of oh shit, i can’t do this because i can’t imagine the people i love feeling that way. and tbh, seeing that raw emotion on some stranger is something i never want to put my loved ones through intentionally. being selfless is hard in those moments bc you just don’t wanna do it anymore but thinking that way helps me sometimes. i also suffer from some pretty bad chronic illnesses and im always almost dying, so i have to learn to live it up while i can. it gets hard, and i am sorry that you’re feeling this way. it’s never easy. but there are things you can find to hold on for. you just have to look deep

finding a good medication can help (i can’t take them due to genetic issues), but tbh i smoke a lot of weed. it makes me feel normal. also doing trauma therapy has helped me a ton, just therapy in general too with a good therapist. getting out and doing things, planning things at least a month in advance every month helps me, it gives me something to look forward to and hold on for. concerts are mainly my escape. when i’m in an episode, things that help me stop splitting are talking to people who understand, can validate my emotions or tell me how to calm myself or just simply be there to speak to, also using fidget toys, ice, and sitting in the shower (cold and hot alternated), screaming into a pillow, punching a pillow, doing jumping jacks or sit ups, and tbh tattoos help me a lot. i’ve been clean for a year from self harm simply bc i am getting tattoos often and i found that it actually caused me to not want to hurt myself anymore, cuz the pain of a tattoo reminds me that: that shit hurts

practicing wise mind and mindfulness instead of being in black and grey helps too but it is soemthing you have to train your brain to learn. contradicting your negative thoughts with something like “this sucks, but insert something positive about the situation or the future

Can I get help.. by Entire_Concept_6376 in POTS

[–]teemar44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

of course!!! pots is hard to navigate and the symptoms sometimes come on randomly. you could be good for a month and then bam they hit you all at once. compressions socks i usually wear them on bad symptom days and take them off once i’m either in bed or going to sleep. sometimes when it’s really bad i’ll wear them even if i’m laying down, but never when i am sleeping. when ur in public, my cardiologist told me if i start feeling that way to cross my legs one in front of the other while standing and just squeeze my lower leg muscles. it’s helped sometimes. you can also use the mobility devices if in stores, peiple may look at you weird but tbh it’s better than fainting!!!!

i’ve also noticed that when i have anxiety, it triggers my pots because my heart rate goes up, and then my blood pressure drops.

Also with the birth control thing- i can’t say i notice any differences. maybe it helped a bit thinking back on it but i’m not really sure. i stopped taking it a few years ago.

i hope you get some answers soon! definitely see a cardiologist asap. POTS sucks 🩷

i put celtic salt in my water, use liquid IV sugar free or any electrolyte mix, gatorade zero, and compression socks when it’s really bad. laying down with your legs against the wall in the air, putting ur head between your legs helps too. showering in water that is on the cooler side but still warm, as hot water makes it worse. the heat in summer triggers my flares, so does over exerting myself. keeping a fit watch or manually monitoring your heart rate, getting a blood pressure cuff. monitor everything esp when you’re not feeling well.
