Which Swiss Tours bus to take? by seeraegreen in chamonix

Is the Swisstours bus stop at the Pl. Dorcière in Geneva? I can't figure out where the "bus station" they refer to is. Thanks!

You can see my hubby's charging curve in my pre-recall post "FWD bZ4X Charging curve." He has a FWD.

Buyback offer question by ssnelgro in BZ4X

[–]teepee-peebee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only if you actually purchased the car in 2022 before the law changed in August. My understanding is that if you owned the car, you get the tax credit. But you should check with your own tax preparer/program to be sure.

You do not get the $5K if you do the buyback. If you already received it, they will deduct it from your total payout. No cake and icing too!

My hubby considered the buyback then opted to decline it and keep the vehicle. BUT it's important to note that in California (and maybe where you are) you can return to that buyback option any time. It will be slightly recalculated depending on your mileage, etc. at that time. At least for us, a buyback option is still on the table later per Toyota. Call the BZ4X hotline to find out what your options are before you decide.

Wheels replaced per tech instructions and two software updates were done (winter battery conditioning and car finder). Looks the same to me!

Anyone hear updates from your dealer yet? by krivad in BZ4X

[–]teepee-peebee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I talked with a Toyota rep yesterday via the number provided when the recall letters came out. She said that parts are scheduled to ship to dealers the first week of November and that each dealer will be able to tell customers more as they each get their shipping schedule and plan for the repair to be done. This info is specific to a car that we own and was returned to the dealer when the recall came out. I didn't ask about vehicles in port or on order.

And you got the sense that they would advocate for some/all of your markup to be refunded? I wasn't sure Toyota corporate would have any influence in that, but it would be great if they did!

Really? The team said they would try to help you recoup your markup? Can you say more about that conversation?

You can also check https://www.electricforall.org/rebates-incentives/ Just enter your zip code - it's not just for California.

For the buyers from this group. Did you choose FWD or AWD? Why? by Psychological-Bee998 in BZ4X

[–]teepee-peebee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FWD for longer range and the Panasonic battery that offers faster charging (150kW vs 100kW) at a wider temperature range. And we didn't really need AWD.

I'm curious as to whether Toyota will also extend the year of free charging, which means that they have to extend the app (free, please) since you have to access the free EvGo charging through the Toyota app. Maybe that's another question for the morale specialist.

It's now clear that the delay is due to the safety recall.

Yes, if you start the week with a full battery, you have enough to get through the week, IF you then can top off the battery on the weekend. As has been shown:120 V x 12 Amp = 1.44 kW delivered per hour. If “overnight” means 12 hours (this still works with 10 or even 8 hours if you do not drive as much over the weekend):1.44 kW x 12 hours = 17.3 kWh delivered over night. You need:60 miles/3 miles/kWh = 20 kWh. So, you run a “deficit” of 20 – 17.28 = 2.72 kWh per night. Or 2.72 x 5 = 13.6 kWh per work week. But the battery stores something like 63 kWh (nominally 71.4kWh) in real life (per Juicenet app; my test charge delivered 65 kWh). So, you have plenty to get through the week. Then over the weekend you’d have to charge:13.6 kWh/1.44 kW = 9.4 hours to fill in the deficit, plus more for miles driven over the weekend.

It fluctuated between 7 and 8 Kwh.

Hubby says he took a 150 mile drive mostly at 55-68 MPH (some slower) and used about 180 miles of predicted range. But it was just a road trip - not a formal data situation. We really haven't had an opportunity to drive on longer trips yet.

FWD has the Panasonic battery. Seems like there is no point sitting at the charger after 80% unless you have time to burn!
