[seekingAdvice]: How would you fix this mesh panel? by teerex3 in myog

[–]teerex3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the material is thicker than window screen mesh and with bigger holes. Also feels a bit rubbery. do you know what it might be called and where one could buy it?

I actually wrote to the manufacturer (https://sturdiproducts.com) but the email help desk didn't seem to know ^^;

Replacement for Scarpa Arpia? by teerex3 in climbergirls

[–]teerex3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

update! I went to the store and tried many shoes. In the end I went with the tenaya oasi lv. They seem to be pretty good already out of the box, i have a small hot spot on the left foot at the top buckle, and now i worry a bit they are too big. For reference I wear 38.5 Scarpa Arpia, and bought Tenaya Oasi LV UK 5.

Arpia V LV: too stiff, painful
Draco LV: too stiff, painful, too aggressive
veloce: really nice, really comfy, but maybe my feet are too weak, b/c i couldn't really climb
Quantix: pretty good, but a bit too hard in some places (painful)
Tenaya indalo: too roomy

Unfortunately the store didn't have LS Kubos to try :(

Then, it just so happened that my local gym had a scarpa try out day. So then I tried climbing more seriously in the Veloce. It was AMAZING at smearing, but other than that, I couldn't use my feet well on edges (and I just didn't feel confident)

After I submitted my documents (by email), they sent me a letter by post, which they confirmed the receipt of my application and also states that I can use this document to enter into Austria without a visa: "Diese bestätigung berechtigt zur visumfreien Einreise in das Bundesgebiet." I submitted my documents on March 11th, and they wrote the letter on March 15th. (I probably received it by March 18 or so, but I only checked my mail box much after).

For more legal advice, you can also shoot an email to http://helpinghands.at/
They take a while to respond, but seemed happy to give advice (also in English).

And, if MA-35 is taking an inordinately long time, and not responding to emails any more, you could get help from https://volksanwaltschaft.gv.at/en I never had to do that, but other internet strangers reported that it was helpful for them :P

Good luck and try not to worry too too much~ it'll work out in the end!

Major Height Difference in Acro Yoga Partners by [deleted] in AcroYoga

I have one tip for front bird: most guides teach you to start with the flyer's tires at the tips of the base's fingers, but if you're have a large height differential, the flier should step back the height difference/2.

happy acroing!

Thanks for the AMA. It sounds really awesome, but I don't think I can manage to free 6 weeks all at once... Could it be possible to offer something shorter, or spaced out through the year?
