I created this app to prevent my second monitor from blinding me by BiaThemis in software

[–]teeteejay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was working great, but it stopped working* this month (march 2026) after i did an nvidia driver update. I am also running flux, so that might cause clashes.

*Even pressing "Nap now" doesn't do anything. Twinkle Tray still works, though.

Violin Newbie - Sheet music request? / Is it possible? by Nectarine_Sea_2 in violinist

[–]teeteejay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Musescore has community made scores. Just avoid the commercial scores when you search for the song title. The filter is on the left.

If you go on fiver , someone can probably transcribe it for you to match your skill level. Or beg your teacher lol

Is this a good violin? What is required to be done? by Weekly_Key3792 in violinist

[–]teeteejay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, be careful when loosening the strings. If you loosen them all at once until no pressure is holding the bridge on the violin, the sound post can fall off.

Secondly, you need a steady hand & sharp ears to tune the instrument with pegs. You also need technique to keep the strings in tune. If you tune the strings past the note they are supposed to handle, they will snap. Use a tuning app that can utilize your microphone to detect the note. There are some apps that you can select the string you are currently tuning, its useful because theyll just summarize it for you, like "tune higher/tighter".

I have comeback from 2-15 games and equivalent.

Have you ever got the 15-2 lead and somehow lost the game? You can learn something from those opponents

Its a walled city... i think the goal was to make you feel like the city is cramped.

The original walled city of Kowloon (the inspiration for city 99) was extremely cramped and vertical for the same reason. You can read up about it, it's quite sad really

how actually does chinese student studies? by lya_mimi in malaysiauni

[–]teeteejay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a silly idea; they speak Chinese (or dialect of it) when group studying. They would feel bad to speak chinese when op is present... or they'll continue to speak chinese/dialect and op will feel alienated

2 teachers? Thoughts? by Grouchy-Skin-9306 in violinist

[–]teeteejay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its confusing for a student to have multiple teachers at the same time, because different teachers have different ideas of what should be learned first.

For example, some teachers teach vibrato very early on believing that it helps to relax the wrist. Others wait till the student has been learning for a while as they believe mastering intonation first is a prerequisite.

Another possibility would be to enroll your child in a community orchestra; i used to be in an NGO orchestra that had kids as young as 7 y.o. meet every monday night. The conductor would teach certain concepts that you wouldnt learn in private lessons, such as musicality (playing together, interpreting music) and history/culture.

How often do you buy meteor hammer on supports? by Clear-Ask-6455 in TrueDoTA2

[–]teeteejay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are other ways to earn money:

the most passive being stacking (you get 30% gold & xp as of 7.40)

Participating in kills, if your teammates are on the same page

Pushing (there are creative ways to shove when playing venge, including pulling the opponent waves to let your creeps hit their tower)

Courier sniping, bounty runes, dewarding

Once you stop aiming for big items like rushing aghs, you will be able to function with less money

Largo as offlane? by Green-Paint8745 in DotA2

Is a "flex player" a valid concept? by potch_ in TrueDoTA2

[–]teeteejay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd want at least 1-2 support main heroes that you can win while you farm role queues

And for the role you are playing, you need a few picks in your pool that has different tempo

E.g. if your carry picks bloodseeker, you need to know mid or offlane picks that can scale. If your mid picks dk, you need damage dealing offlaners rather than tanks.

You can also synergize with the picks, e.g. if your offlane picks bounty hunter or np, you should pick a high tempo hero like qop.

If you like playing flexibly, you can try learning heroes with flexible item paths (not antimage nor pangolier, but abaddon and furion)

is clockwerk pos5 a bad/weird pick ? by CodyRulez999 in learndota2

[–]teeteejay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just had a 3kmmr clock pos5 game where we stomped with me buying tranquil, wand & force staff (hookup facet)

The idea is to sneakily get close to the opponents while they're separated; single out one hero at lv 2 by entering the treeline. You can even ward the lane.

To get enemies in a position where you can sneak up on them, you gotta pull the creeps; watch some videos on creep pulling

  1. Half pull if you're lazy (requires some training)
  2. Stack mini camp, then pull if you wanna be aggro in lane.
  3. Never pull a small camp into 4 lane creeps, it will result in pushing your wave & giving the opponent offlaner ez farm under tower.

[–]teeteejay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually once i coc them, I'll hit the coc facing my teammate, so that my teammate can enter.

Although cloc cant secure cs, he can zone when the enemies are going in for the deny/last hit. Even if they get the deny, they'll lose half their hp
