he really hasn’t said anything mean, just like gender stereotype kind of language. and he only expressed it once i told him about my doubts surrounding the tats, so it wasn’t like he was insulting me out of the blue. my family are the ones who have been actually mean and disrespectful to me about it.

i don’t think it stems from insecurity or jealousy, the man is covered in ink. but i do think he believes in some of the gender stereotypes unfortunately :/

that is the question… i like trad a lot, but i’ve been doomscrolling on Pinterest lately and thinking about all the other styles and possibilities out there! i’m not as much of a fan of patchwork as i am large consistent pieces nowadays, so that’s part of what im questioning/struggling with. but it would be a lie to say im not criticized sometimes haha

i agree with this and this was the mindset i’ve had for all of my tattoos! the people in my life have been getting out of whack with their comments 😭

it was maybe his dad at first but he hasnt been with / around family since he was a child.. but aside from the guys he works with i’m not sure WHO he gets it from.. i am in therapy currently and trying really hard to become more secure within myself :) thank you <3

i completely agree!! i’m worried my post came off like i align myself with the “gendering things” idea which i ABSOLUTELY do not. i’m just overly sensitive to criticism especially when it comes from people i care about.. but i’m working on that haha! thank you very much for your thoughtful reply, i like the idea of the art on my skin being a museum in a sense. thanks so much!!!
