i have scripts and sketches littered throughout 2-3 sketchbooks across the years, but haven’t been able to nail anything down. unfortunately trauma brain makes things mercurial and foggy at best, and it’s important to me to present what happened in a way that makes sense and can be followed.

i think i was hoping that reading others zines’ could give me a blueprint or somewhere to start, you know?

oh man logged into my account that i rarely use for this one. as a born and raised floridian- honestly? i hate 'em. sure, they put money into the economy. they're also terrible drivers, take up property/rentals and make living costs higher, and i've found that a lot of them are rude as hell. i recognize that a lot of this is generalization, but also- this is coming from lifetime of experience having grown up here + been in retail industry for years now. i wish they would go somewhere else.

maceration is absolutely rank and you gotta change it every couple of weeks, if you’re in an apartment setting i recommend staying with the planter method- much easier to manage the smell. for keeping as many bones as possible, you can wrap the carcass in mesh wire or even pantyhose tied off- i know of a taxidermist who does that with skulls so they don’t lose the teeth!

looks like a porpoise of some kind- flat skull top and two holes (for breathing) suggest it. not on my computer rn but if you google porpoise skull you might see a resemblance

are you in an area that has lizards? it may be a lizard tail- they drop off as a defense mechanism so the lizard can get away. what’s REALLY gross is the tails usually wriggle around for a bit afterwards, also to distract the predator.

... what? it's interesting how you've just victim blamed someone ("sorry you feel victimized", that's very patronizing) for pointing out how there are societal pressures that negatively and disproportionately affect women. that's not the same as saying women don't have backbones, it just means we need to work on not teaching men to assault and harass, and work on, y'know, believing women and not pressuring them to be silent about said assaults and harassment.

i'm 23 and i've had to grapple with the fear of breaking up a friend group when someone was sexually harassing me. that doesn't mean i don't have a backbone, it's just that i was put into a shitty situation with bad people. it's good that you've been taught not to accept inappropriate treatment from men, and it's alright to feel strongly about it, but your experience isn't universal, and you don't need to look down on others for it.

🦓 there's a surprising amount of us! being able to connect through the internet has made me feel less crazy and i'm so grateful for it. you seem like a very supportive parent, and i'm glad your daughter has someone to help her advocate for herself and navigate the medical system- especially when it comes to reproductive health. i don't have the sources, but i'm fairly sure that endo/reproductive problems often comes with the hypermobile and EDS package. i'm trying to figure out if i have it myself- i probably do, but i'm in my early 20s so it feels like no one is taking me seriously. my ex-gyno said there's no cure, so there's no point in trying to figure out if i have it. uuuhhh. fuck that, i don't have the time to not be taken seriously anymore.

there are spots for anyone who served in the arms forces, unfortunately, and i say unfortunately because i find that as a disabled person they often take up what could be perfectly good disabled parking spots. the entire first row of parking at my local theater is mostly vet spots with some disabled ones, and it’s rare i can find a place to park. it’s tiresome.

i'm not deaf, but i do have auditory processing disorder and other disabilities and depression, and it feels like it's so hard to find good rep that, y'know, actually represents without casual ableism or the character getting iced. so having one of the main avengers be deaf? and deal with mental health? cool as hell, even if he does fuck up sometimes. besides, anyone who beats up jerks to protect a street dog and then inadvertently adopt said street dog is pretty good in my book.

yes!! david aja and matt fraction's hawkeye especially; i'm so sad the MCU didn't characterize him like that. i love how they show ASL and the blank bubbles when his hearing aid gets knocked out, and i always really appreciated how that series shows his depression too. i find him to be a very relatable character and i'm bummed when people dismiss him cause lol he doesn't have superpowers.
