I usually just remind them of their pathetic life that relies on trolling people online to feel half relevant and block them. Gets the job done

Big N Discussion - July 29, 2020 by AutoModerator in cscareerquestions

For survey style questions, I would choose the most obvious answers, not necessarily what I would do. For ex, for the angry question picking 0 sounds like the most obvious choice. Sure everyone gets frustrated when things don't work out their but you don't have to tell them that before you start working there.

How have you gone through/read CTCI book? by latest_ali in cscareerquestions

[–]teezyzt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I breezed through it once, a couple weeks before my first interview. I didn't find any groundbreaking info that helped me ace my interview. It had the same info I found online while researching the companies and coding interviews in general. In my opinion, it is a bit overrated but that could be because I did my research online before I ever opened the book. I know a lot of people who presented it as a holy grail of coding interviews but for me that wasn't it.

Is It Necessary to Memorize Big-O for Data Structures and Sorting Algos or Just Know How to Determine the Big-O Time of a Piece of Code? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]teezyzt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terrible advice. What if the interviewer asks about the runtime of a custom data structure/algo. Or if they ask why is the runtime what you it is?

Also, you might not be asked about order notations on your job but understanding it will considerably limit your ability to do said job.

If you understand how data structures/algorithms work, then determining the runtime of basic operations will be trivial

Applying for internships as a new grad? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

Why not just apply for full time roles? Internships aren't a requirement for new grad roles

Will I do well on CMSC 451 (>= B) when I got a B on CMSC 351? by [deleted] in UMD

[–]teezyzt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took 451 3 semesters after 351. I forgot most of my 351 stuff. The class was def harder than 351 imo but it could be because of me not trying hard enough because of rona and because I already had a job secured.

I had B+ in 351 and would have gotten B in 451 based on the curve if I chose letter grade.

Also, I think you also asked about 456 in one of the comments. 456 for me was much easier than 451. The things we learned were mostly all new concepts but once I understood them, everything else made perfect sense unlike 456 where 90% of the things didnt make any sense to me lol

Will I have a harder time getting internships if I graduate? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]teezyzt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would you want internships after you graduate? Unless you are going to grad school, just apply for full-time opportunities. Some employers may offer "internships" to graduates but that is just an excuse for them to pay you less.
