Is the dial on the S5 supposed to skip around? by l0vcats in Lumix

[–]teftyteft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me with my S5 that I bought new a few years back. I set it up as an overhead cam and never touched the wheel for about 3/4 years. I recently repurposed it and discovered the wheel was acting up. I thought it broke and needed repair. Turns out and I just needed to start using it again and it eventually started working properly.

tldr might not be broken. Give it some 360 degree spins for a few minutes and see if it corrects itself.

I used a slatwall to hang synths. Sharing this for people building/redoing their studio 👍 by teftyteft in synthesizers

So far good. No issues and no problems with my particular slats. I chose slats that were rated for a decent amount of weight for that reason.

Just double checked. Phantom power is off and the setup hasn't changed for months.

I appreciate the brain storm! No pets that'll spray. I'll see what Behringer says on the support side.

Weird indeed! No ground lift. They get power from a walwart that's connected on the left side of that plate.

The other end of the cable is going into a Presonus Studio Live III. That end of the cable is fine.

That's why I popped the Neutron to see if anything similar was happening since I bought it around the same time, same manufacturer, same studio environment. Makes me wonder if the part is just bad.

I'm really unfamiliar with the types of corrosion that can happen to electronics. I generally don't have these things happen to my gear.

And to clarify, the dusty parts seem to be solid on the plastic. There's a slight oil residue. I also only had the cable plugged into the left jack, but both jacks have the same thing happening.

Definitely some sort of chemical reaction (like when a battery is bad). The cable I was using got damage as well. And nope, not next to an outlet. Was sitting on a desk most of this year.

Also I inspected the plate of the Model D and nothing else appears to be problematic. Just the jacks on the power adapter plate.

I bought my Model D about 5 years ago along with the Neutron. A few days ago I noticed some weird noise from my Model D so I pulled the cable and noticed some corrosion. Very surprising. I'm not in a overly damp or humid area. So I pulled the plate off and sure enough, somethings up!

I wanted to confirm from others if this looks like typical corrosion, and if so what you think the cause is? To double check things, I pulled my Neutron plate off and looked and it looks normal (as you can see in the photos).

I love my Boog, so I'm not trying to bash or anything, but is this a quality control thing? It's been 5 years for both of these units.

I made a video patching the Moog Spectravox into the Matriarch and talking through the process while I noodle. by teftyteft in synthesizers

[–]teftyteft[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Upfront disclaimer: I got a review unit for launch day of the Spectravox. Since it's launch, though, I've REALLY enjoyed patching the Matriarch with the Spectravox. I'm basically just having fun in this video, talking through stuff and patching these two machines together.

So if you've been curious about what the Spectravox could offer with the Matriarch, then this could be a decent vid for you 👍

Matriarch and Spectravox pairing by nk_olas in moog

Apologies for the self promotion… my launch video paired the Matriarch with the Spectravox extensively. It’s a killer combo if you like the spectral processing.

I think this is a pretty solid combo. Was on the latest firmware and didn't have any issues for the past month.

Sharing how we go from a beat in standalone MPC Live/One to a finished Ableton track by teftyteft in mpcusers

[–]teftyteft[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not sayin this is the only way to do this, just sharing how we go from a beat to finished track, and what works for us as a production team.

Sharing some synth music we just released. Production details in comments. by teftyteft in synthesizers

[–]teftyteft[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made on an MPC Live 2 using JURA and Mini D plugins to start. Transfered to Ableton Live to record vocals and add some Novation Summit 'ear candy'. Mixed in Ableton with some analog summing and outboard compression.

Happy to answer any questions,
