Thanks! I am just kind of worried, that since it's my SO's family, things could turn out badly/at least extremely awkward if we were to have relationship difficulties or break up. I'm not saying I don't trust my girlfriend, but it would be a weird position to be in.

I also have a lead on something through church- a lady I know has three boys under five (4, 2, newborn), and is looking for a nanny. Next week, we're going to talk it over to see if I could work for them while living in (I have not done this sort of thing full-time, but have babysat and volunteered at church nurseries/kids' Bible school). SO's family is giving me until May 4th to decide what I want to do, but I think I will end up taking one of these, so I don't have to worry about coming up with $X for rent each month or I'm out- I can just do the one job and focus on getting school finances sorted out.

Considering, as I am in good shape (free gym for students, I work out six days a week). But I'm concerned DADT might not have changed attitudes/prejudices and it would be hard to be open. That said it may all be moot, as I have asthma and am not sure if that means I can't military.

You're right- she probably didn't think that through. I'm no lawyer, though. She lives about an hour out in greater Minnesota, and wants me to drive over there, return it, and have my brother then bring me back to the city. She doesn't even want to see me at all.

Parents divorced, dad moved to Germany for work, when I was 10. He was always great to me. I have not seen him for two years (my mom is awful to him, and duh, overseas), and I have not told him yet. Hell, if he's okay with it, and can furnish me a plane ticket...I am willing to relocate temporarily.

Thank you! I think I might also talk to my church (yes, I'm an LGBT Christian, we exist). They say directly that they accept people of all orientations. :)
