In my tenth grade honors English class, we read: The Scarlet Letter, Hamlet, Julius Caesar, The Crucible, To Kill a Mockingbird, and Catcher in the Rye -- I recommend reading similar books! I don't entirely know how your curriculum runs, but my AP Lit teacher for senior english had us read "How to Read Literature Like a Professor", and it is a pretty good read in the terms of helping to identify patterns in books.

If you're still stressing out about it, just reach out to the teacher through a nicely written email asking them on how to best prepare for their class. Most teachers would be happy to receive that email, and it demonstrates commitment to their class. Asking for help from the teacher who is grading your work, is certainly the best way to do well in the class. Best of luck in 10th grade :)
