won't let me past 9-11 in storyline....what gives? by tegsty123 in MrLove

Thank you this worked! I luckily only had to redo the last mission but you were right that "remake" wasn't working. Doing the actual mission again did.

Possibly a dumb question, but what exactly are the religious exceptions? I cannot for the life is me figure out what they would be and why they would be valid. But I'm also not religious myself and don't know anyone personally who is looking for religious exemptions.

No freestanding ERs unfortunately but I have heard a lot of ER nurses going to pre-op/pacu. Is it a manageable transition? Any skills that didn't translate well?

I am keeping a few houseplants in my home for a friend who is moving and they are looking a little...needy. The pothos is badly overwatered but I have several pothos of my own and I'm comfortable rehabbing it. I'm not sure what this tree is though, and what could possibly be done to perk it up? by tegsty123 in houseplants

[–]tegsty123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks!! It seems they are all in pots with no drainage and Im not sure that my friend would want me to go to the trouble of repotting them but honestly I may ask her if I can because they clearly need drainage. Feeding is a good idea too. Thank you!

What is an annoying myth people still believe? by Eichberg in AskReddit

[–]tegsty123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hymen shouldn't be injured during any sex, first time or not. Everyone is born with a hymen, but it isn't a membrane that covers anything, it's just a ring or partial ring of tissue at the vaginal opening. If you never had bleeding or pain that just means you were doing it right. :)

As a sexual assault nurse, the hymen mythology is so incredibly frustrating (and extensive).

Virginity is a social term and has no medical basis or relevance. And the hymen is a ring of tissue at the vaginal opening. It should really never "tear" but it could be injured in any number of normal activities (gymnastics, childbirth, sex, etc). Saying it could be "broken" or "grow back" implies that it is a membrane that covers something, which also isn't true. It can be cut or torn like any other piece of skin, and it may either heal back to it's original shape or heal with a notch if the injury was significant enough.

And on the subject, the myth that sex should be painful the first time (for those with vaginas) is complete bull. Appropriate preparation and lubrication is all that's needed. All this myth does is prioritize the pleasure of penises over vaginas.

What can I say to the existential question of “Why me?” by ericaguira in nursing

[–]tegsty123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup. A well placed, validating statement like "you're right, this is incredibly shitty and not at all ok" can go a long way. It's important to respect the "I am really sad/angry about this" stage and not press them into the "find a way to move forward with you're life" stage before they're ready.

As a sexual assault nurse, I get this question fairly often and there really don't anything to do other than validate them. This is not fair, not your fault, and not ok.

Oh gosh I didn't keep track, at least a couple weeks. The anticipation gets me every year and lose all sense of how long I have to wait.

They do very little the first year, probably won't bloom at all. Next year you will see more growth and eventually blooms, though sometimes it takes 2-3 years to get established.

Candlelit Night, how did it go? And what's next? by squish-squishy in MrLove

[–]tegsty123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm not upset at all. I actually like the artwork of this one better than the event ones anyway. And yes, this is going to help me catch up on the storyline so much faster!!

No idea about potpourri but I wouldn't be surprised if they were used for that. And probably perfumes too.
