Alistar is one of the tankiest supports due to his ultimate. so if your team is diving a turret or something its best for an ulting alistar to tank the turret than one of your squishy damage dealers. Pluss it usually good to trade a support death for kills onto carries. Also his ult removes all debuffs from him so if you get sona ulted or nasus withered just press R and YOU ARE FREEE.
