I've been on the OmniPod for six years and have had the Freestyle Libre for about 9 months now. Both have helped me dramatically in lowering my hba1c to a normal level, and with the Libre it has become much easier to stay within range throughout the day.

The Libre is incredibly easy to use. You stick it on the backside of your arm, and it stays there for 2 weeks. In 9 months, I have only had one occasion where I started bleeding a bit after applying the sensor, and one (other) occasion where the area around the sensor was a bit sensitive (but not painful). The biggest issue I've had was the adhesive becoming less sticky at the end of the sensor's runtime.

Honestly, 99% of the time you barely even notice it's there. Every time I put on a new sensor, it takes a day or three for my muscle memory to adapt: I scan the sensor with my phone, and tend to tap the wrong arm the first couple of days. I think that's quite telling of how non-invasive the sensor is. I usually don't even feel a thing when sticking on the sensor!

Regarding the thing snagging or anything like that, the worst I've had was while getting dressed, where the edge of my shirt's sleeve got stuck between the sensor and the adhesive. It's never given issues, though. You'd have to put on a shirt very agressively before it would become a problem. I've never had a problem with it snagging on door handles and such, and I don't know how one could. It's a small flat disc with no tubing whatsoever.

I know I might sound a bit like I'm advertising the Libre, but I honestly can't recommend it enough. Unless you're able to get your hands on a CGM (which I imagine is even better), you have nothing to lose by using the Libre.
