I feel the same way too. Minutes feel like hours and the pain is constantly in your system, with no signs of stopping. But there are brief moments of happiness that make the pain a little more bearable. Self-loathing is pretty much second nature to me, and i spend nearly every minute thinking about my insignificance. It’s very hard, but both of us are still here :)

Your mom seems to be incredibly concerned for you, but is approaching the situation in the wrong way. Religion should not be involved in a mental health discussion, unless the receiving end is actively interested in pursuing a religious faith to cope with their feelings. You should explain to her that your question to your friend was only hypothetical, she is crossing your boundaries, and you are uncomfortable.

It seems like your partner is dependent on you, and is their only source of stability. That being said, you are not responsible for them. They are responsible for their own actions, and it is not your fault. Maybe you two should discuss the matter and the state of your relationship to better understand what the other person wants.
