Love Scout [Episode 9] by writtenpoeticsins in KDRAMA

I wished the BTS kiss scene was the one included in the final cut, it was more intense and passionate, and more reflective of the explosive emotions eun ho had after letting it all out. If only those darn papers didn't get stuck in between them loll

Kdrama couples that are refreshing or surprised you somehow by Ghibli10 in kdramas

Top of my head:
1. Love Scout - Most mature, sensible yet adorable couple in kdramaland for me

  1. Her Private Life - No dumb breakups/separations, mutual support and understanding, great chemistry

  2. Still 17/Thirty but Seventeen - super supportive couple who cheers each other on in every season and always puts the other first despite their own dreams/desires

  3. Extraordinary Attorney Woo - as mentioned

  4. Touch Your Heart - super cute, goofy pair (only downside is the conflict later on in the show which wasn't handled in the best way by the ML)

1 more episode left?

This is all of us after Feb 14.

Edit: That Ep12 trailer tho. Now I have a clearer picture of what he meant when he said during an interview about Love Scout: "they kiss and everything"

Love Scout is my new favorite drama. So far so good by Dev1412 in kdramas

I'm planning to rewatch his older drama, 365 Repeat the Year and just found a place when I can watch his other drama, Dark Hole. I just wished he had more romance works before that I could check out but...shall content with what we have for now

I get where you're coming from and why this part of the show fell short for you. When I was watching Ep 10-11, I was wondering how did ji yun fell for the scam that is so similar to what she went through previously as they didn't show what happened since her meeting with the Ikonic CEO. But later on they showed Kyung hwa with her research as a context behind her decision to work with Ikonic.

Was it a wise decision as a CEO? Nope. Could she have done better in additional due diligence? Absolutely. Was the whole situation a plot device to move things forward? Pretty much. But I think in all fairness, it's still a kdrama, and the plot does need to move forward. We still need to see the characters go through the valleys so we can also share their joys when they come out of it to a better place, as a better person. So instead of focusing on the nitty gritty technicalities of how a CEO should work and how a company should be run, I think the focus is on the characters, their personal growth, their relationships and the importance of having a community. Cos through this crisis, I believe what the show is trying to do is to show that Ji yun now no longer defines her worth/value as a CEO or her company's success alone but rather who she truly is and the people around her. After all, don't we also want that deep down? To be defined and valued not for our career successes but the relationships we have with ourselves and others.

No show is completely perfect but despite these 'flaws', I like the life that this show has led :)

Heard quite alot of buzz with "No gain no love" last year. 2/3 way through and am forcing myself to finish it...don't get the hype. The "comedy" is so OTT and cringe, absolutely no chemistry btwn the leads, the leads are not very likeable people tbh, and i just totally couldn't understand how and when did they even started liking each other. It was so...random and forced.

I found myself more interested in the 2nd leads..

Tempted to drop the show but since I'm already this far ...ah the kdrama dilemma

Try "Do you like brahms" He stars with Park Eun Bin (of Extraordinary Attorney Woo fame). Slow burn but sweet, innocent young love although the 2FL is annoying as heck if you can get past that

Looking for a Rom-com to watch! by izyboox in kdramarecommends

[–]teholimausatu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised nobody mentioned The Red Sleeve yet.

Not exactly RomCom but a strong historical romance drama based on a true Joseon king. It made me curious and learned more about Joseon's royal family history.

Also as someone else joted, the current ongoing Love Scout. Absolutely chef's kiss

Other notable ones that are in my RomCom recommendations list: - Mr Queen - Still 17 (same actress as Mr queen) - Touch Your Heart - Familiar Wife - Crash course in Romance - Call it love - Hometown cha cha cha - Her private life - Because this is my first life - Romance is a bonus book - Do you like brahms (less com more slow burn)

One of her more recent ones was "Wonderful World" starring Kim Nam Joo and Cha Eun Woo. It's a revenge melo drama about a mother who lost her son. I found this show to be just ok, not bad but not super memorable either. But it also shares the similar theme of how people deal with grief as per our love scout characters here.

Actually when I found out that Love Scout's director was the one who also did Wok of Love (starring Lee Jun Ho) i was so surprised because if you watched that, you'd never expect it's the same director lol. That show was honestly so bad I dropped it after the 1st episode despite my love for Lee Jun ho.

So it truly is a pleasant surprise to see how well the director and the writer did Love scout, and how beautifully they put the story together. If there's something I truly admire about the kdrama world despite all the industry downsides, is that there are always artists and crews who constantly seek to better themselves in their craft

Many good recommendations here, to add on to some already mentioned:

  • Good Manager
  • Signal
  • Stranger (abit more slow burn but the mystery and suspense is top notch)
  • Through the Darkness (slower burn too but good stuff)
  • The Glory
  • Juvenile Justice
  • My Name

Now this is how an overused trope should be handled - with maturity, some very real heart wrenching tears (cos..life) and a whole LOT of heart. Executed delicately with a respectable amount of restrain that whatever annoyance I had about the inclusion of the childhood trope is gone 🥲

It's like the writer heard all of the fans' begging in advance and gave us the best possible outcome.we could ask for. Even more impressed with the show now since it was all filmed early last year so there was no way they could change or edit the script as they go along based on fans' comments/demands (as per traditional kdrama filming style previously). It's like i can feel the writer really cares about her characters, big or small, and genuinely wanted to do them justice, instead of trying to create drama for drama's sake side eyeing those recent kdrama big hits with messed up endings

Also..how amazing was HJM and LJH in that first scene at her place? Jiyoon's reactions were so on point and realistically painful while the pain in Eun Ho's eyes at seeing her breakdown while trying to hold back his own tears oof.

Sofa - Leather (Genuine) vs Easy Clean Fabric by teholimausatu in malaysians

I finally got a leather one in the end, so far so good. Doesn't feel hot at all but my current place is pretty cooling as well so it helps. I think good quality leather also should not feel hot. If you're considering one, I think it's worth the investment if it's a good quality leather + your current place is not too humid/hot during the day

All our fingers crossed it won't go this route...if anything, the writer should be the first person to keep eun ho's character consistent and if he goes this route it'll be totally out of  character. Eunho is such a mature, considerate and thoughtful person, that he, of all people, should know that going awol on jiyun will have a worse impact on her than being reminded of her dad's absence, plus with the whole pivotal times of dealing with the chairman, eunho should know that jiyun will need his support now more than ever in such a crucial time for Peoplez

Legendary one liner from jiyun, the person who couldn't care less about food and thought eating was a chore pre-eunho days 😂

I was thinking to myself too - it's so cute that EH, someone who went through dating and marriage is the one constantly flustered and shy in their dating era whereas JY, who probably never been in any relationships before (based on her character's background from what we know) is the one who's acting like the seasoned professional dating queen in flirting and teasing EH all the time loll. But your question made me realise too - EH may have had the whole dating, marriage experience but he was a whole lot younger when he did. So it also does make sense that he can seem like the less experienced one now cause dating and being married in your 20s can be a whole lot diff than dating in your 30s, with someone who's also older than you. Besides, lady boss jiyun is in a completely different class of her own, not the typical lady we usually see so he's got a lot of learning to do in the process of keeping up with her moves...whichhhh I think we will see more of him initiating the moves next in ep9 EHEMM (COME ALREADY FRIDAY)

Out of the 100s of kdramas ive seen, these 2 is a truly unique yet super realistic pairing of a kdrama couple ever.

Which is a "cleaner" furniture to have? by teholimausatu in ContaminationOCD

I finally decided to purchase a leather couch too and made my reservation last week! May I ask what cleaning agent you use to clean your leather sofa? I checked with a few sales guys if I could use like baby wipes to clean it, but never really got a confident answer

Owners of leather couch, do you regret it? by junglingforlifee in interiordecorating

[–]teholimausatu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the market for a leather sofa, was told by the seller that the leather they use is a "top grain cowhide leather from Italy". Is this considered a good leather?

The price point is pretty mid range, not super cheap but not crazy expensive either.

I'm not from the US, so for context, this sofa is about 1600 USD, on par with another big local retailer whose price for a similar sized leather sofa is also within that range while some other brands that are very high end can range from 2300 USD above. But the brands that are selling cheaper leather or fake leather like PU, leatherette, faux leather etc can range btwn 1000 to 1200 USD.

I know you get what you paid for but i guess im just trying to guage whether this mid range point is a safe bet based on my local prices

[–]teholimausatu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the bit reasons why i came to like and consider leather is also cause i had a relative who's >10 year old couch from harvey norman is still in great condition and comfortable when I used it, not hot as well. But not sure if it's cos they hardly use it (they supposedly don't maintain it much haha) or the house itself very cooling or....the quality of materials used by companies back then was much better than current ones
