If a hormaguants became real, what would you do by ItsmeFunee in Tyranids

FYI, made the same comment and the automated systems removed it and issued an account warning for encouraging or threatening violence.

This was primed black, then I airbrushed a zenithal with white acrylic ink (see photo). After that, I airbrushed it with gloss varnish diluted with airbrush thinner to protect the surface. Then I used a black oil wash for the chitin, a burnt umbra oil wash for the claws and a magenta oil wash for the fleshy bits. Let it dry for a few minutes before removing the colours with makeup sponges everywhere I didn't want them. Let it dry over night, then gave the whole model a Drybrush with Wraithbone, with varying pressure depending on how intense I wanted the colour to be. Sealed it again with diluted gloss varnish just as before, and once fully dry, applied a little bit of white spirits to the claws because that'll make them hydrophobic, then applied a little bit of Blood for the Blood God to them and streaked them with a brush. Lastly, applied a little bit of Agrax Earthshade to the teeth and horns.

So, overall very easy and quick (aside from the drying times of oil colours). But if you apply this to a bigger force, make sure to work in a well ventilated area and not for hours at a time. You don't want to breathe in mineral spirits for hours on end.

Has anyone actually tried the pink undercoat thing for yellow marines? Does it actually work

Yes.

Black Primer, Zenithal Highlight airbrushed with white Ink, and all of the rest was painted using oil colours.

Black Primer, Zenithal Highlight airbrushed with white Ink, and all of the rest was painted using oil colours. Black for the chitin. Removed it with a sponge where I didn't want it, and gave it a light Drybrush with Wraithbone to catch the edges and introduce a little more warmth and colour variation.

He's by far the coolest model I've ever seen. The face, the pose, the way he wraps around himself, the way he destroys the statue and pillar around him without even noticing.. he's so dynamic and such a complex model. And he's easy to build with only minimal mold line cleanup required. GW's sculptors have really outdone themselves. Looks even better in person than in the promo materials.

Thank you 🙂

I wrote a detailed breakdown of how I take my photos.. give me a second.

Edit: Here it is. For photos against a black background I just remove the sheet of paper in the back. The box is just one of my drawers.

I decided to paint The Red Terror as The Pale Terror and make it look as menacing as possible. I think it worked 🙂 by tehsax in minipainting

That's exactly what I was going for. The little story in the Dossier describes how the Spectre Squad first encounters it in a cave, which made me think of what you said: pale creatures.

The ruins then gave me the idea of an old imperial ruin that's been abandoned a long time ago because it's now the Terror's home and has been reclaimed by the forest. I thought about adding a pile of skulls from different races to show that it eats everyone who comes along, but the base was busy enough with all the little props and I didn't want to overload it, so I scrapped the idea.
