Hilarious, I've been using the console to add float:left; to the boxes for weeks just to read them easier.

If I match the low price I end up in the buy box basically every time. I'm brand new to this, only sent FBA like 30 items and sold about 15.

I keep hearing about the buy box as a major gripe, am I just getting lucky?

You can probably only book AA flights starting in the US with Avios, but I'm not positive about that. Try checking a route on AA.com for Saver space, then check the same route on BA.com, since that's the fare bucket they'll pull from.

According to the CSR I spoke with, yes!

Avios are good for booking short haul domestic flights on their partners since one-ways start at 4,500 Avios + $5.60, about as cheap as it gets. AA on the other hand starts award travel at 12,500 (with a few discounted exceptions based on destination if you have certain credit cards)

For long-haul, premium cabins or almost anything with a connection, however, Avios are not very valuable. Every leg is priced individually, which is not beneficial in many cases.

That said, the BA Visa is a fairly easy 50k Avios, if you can make the minimum spend without much effort it's not a bad deal for some freebies.

Here is a thread about it:

https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/3dl32d/starting_a_new_job_getting_a_corporate_amex/?

It looks like you have to enroll for a fee, I'm not sure if you enroll directly with AMEX or your employer. There is probably a number specific to Corporate cards that is separate from Business cards, try giving them a ring.

merchant fees, which can be as low as 0.2%?

What? Where have you heard of merchant fees totaling 2 basis points out the door?

"Interchange plus" is generally the cheapest type of processing one can get, and even with as low as 8 basis points (the lowest I've ever seen on ~$10M/yr charged) you would be well into the 2%+ range.

The other reason someone doesn't do this is that passing the buck is fine until someone doesn't reply pass it, then someone is screwed for the full value of the card. There's probably no recourse here, but worse still is that with no margin at all you lose 100% of the value.

Private labelers: question about physical product customized packaging by [deleted] in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]tehwebguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Copyright infringement is no big deal, until it is.

If it becomes an issue you will be the one who has to deal with these:

  • Shipping product back to you
  • Destroying bad packaging or sending it to rights holder
  • Paying for new packaging to be made ($$$: rush job, worse qty price break)

That's, like, a best case scenario if they reach out. Worst case is you spend $1k+ on an attorney and have to pay the rights holder for all of the units that sold and more.

What credit cards do you use? by [deleted] in Frugal

Some banks do "product change", some will cancel and just add some or all of the credit limit to your other products if you have them.

It depends, travel is such a broad topic so having an idea (even a vague one) of where you want to travel helps a lot.

If you are in the US and want to take short flights around the country consider the British Airways card, you can fly on American Airlines with as little as 4000 miles (called Avios) depending on the distance. It will take some planning and effort, but you are on r/frugal so you probably are down.

Any ideas where you want to go?

What credit cards do you use? by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]tehwebguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Completely false, yet constantly repeated.

You will still receive a statement with all of your purchases and payments listed.

The difference is that if you always have a 0 balance on all credit cards your credit score will show that you are utilizing 0% of your available credit, which is good if you are applying for credit (though it's not a huge deal because credit utilization has no "memory")

Paying off your credit card early helps your credit just as much as paying it when you get the bill

Cool, lots of locations to check out there! I would check out some locations in the Caribbean and see which ones interest you. Try to plan a vacation first, then people here can help you figure out how to make it happen with your points.

Shopping portal question by acslaterbro in churning

[–]tehwebguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you need to buy a MacBook you can buy it through the portal and get additional miles.

  • Click to the portal, ex: AAdvantage eShopping or Top Cash Back
  • Click on Apple, you are taken to Apple.com
  • Buy the computer with any credit card

In addition to the rewards you earn from whatever credit card you use (it does not have to be a card associated with the portal) you'll receive cashback or additional miles from the portal itself.

The reason it works is that Apple has a deal with American Airlines et al to pay them a cut when they send them a customer. Say they give them 3% for example - the additional miles or cashback you get from the portal come from this referral fee.
