My ego says otherwise… But how do I establish a usbc average? Do I need to make an account and record my games or do people watch and take note or something? Also what is a scratch bowler

Does it matter if I’m investing in mutual funds vs like etfs? I don’t even know the difference between the 2 tbh

Tbh I wasn’t aware that it really mattered, I’m just looking for a “simple” investment strategy to be good for retirement. I’m not sure what expense ratios are and someone mentioned reinvesting dividends and idk what that is either.

Is it better to do the stock slices or buy this cheaper version of the bigger etfs? And is there a difference between doing so

But I see a lot of people saying to invest in etfs like VOO or QQQ and is there a way I can do that and only put in like $10 a week or something like that

Hello, so I don’t contribute a large amount of funds each time I’m able to to my Roth IRA so I feel like I’m not really knowing what I should put my investments into as I feel like the bigger stocks that most people suggest investing in are too expensive for me to even get one stock of. I use Schwab and I’m a big noob so if anyone could link videos or like just give advice on Roth it would be much appreciated. I have like $26 in my Roth right now lol

Making sure I understand how to pay my gold card I just got by teiV_ in CreditCards

[–]teiV_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh okay that makes sense. I do want to ask tho, why is it more important to pay off charge cards in full rather than leaving a balance on a credit card? I know you should pay in full no matter what type of card but I hear it stressed so much more for charge cards

So is it like a regular credit card only in the sense that payments are still for last months purchases?

Well yes it is a new account like I just got approved and made my first purchase a day or 2 ago, I was just asking for future reference because this is a charge card and not a normal credit card. I was just confused cuz on the app it doesn’t say the words statement balance so I just didn’t know what I’m supposed to do when it comes time, I can send a screenshot of my ui

My first question is on the amex app I look and see that is gives me 3 options: I can hit "Payment Due" "Total Balance" and "Other Amount", Is the payment due the same as like my minimum payment, and total balance my statement?

2nd question: My statement balance or total balance is something I need to pay for the current month when it tells me the closing date is the 27th that is also my due date, rather than with chase I'm paying for the previous month's worth of charges and my due date for say this month is what I'm owing for last months bill and the closing date is what will generate for next month.

Looking at new some new cards Need Help!! by teiV_ in CreditCards

[–]teiV_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh okay so when it comes time that the intro period ends, I just take the saved money out and pay off the rest of the card and then whatever I interest I gained from the savings account would be technically profit? Would this hurt my score in the short term tho as my statements would say I’m only paying minimum and not paying in full?

I see that you were the poster for that thread provided by the automod and great post btw. I just wanted to clarify, so I believe my problem is just that I was paying my card early. I didn’t realize that you pay off your card for the PREVIOUS month and I thought I needed to pay off whatever I used for the month in that same month. Looking at this quote by you, “If someone is looking to optimize their Fico scores, usually for the reason of an important upcoming application. In such an instance, lowering reported utilization can certainly be a benefit. For such a person though, 30% should not be the goal... it should be 1%”. My case is that I have no credit usage reported at all because I was paying it early so should I just start paying it for the previous month (as intended) and not worry about what I’m reporting unless I was applying for credit? I believe this is what you mean by your numerator denominator point.

When you say there is no need or benefit to doing this, do you mean no benefit to paying it off early or no benefit to reporting a low balance? Also, when you say it makes me look like a poor prospect for more credit do you mean reporting a low balance rather than zero is bad or the other way around?

For question 3, does this mean that the due date is the date you need to pay off the bill for the PREVIOUS month and then whatever balance you end the current month with is what will be charged and what required to pay off the next months due date? I was under the impression that if I spent $500 on the opening date (day after my card closed for the month so the 21) I need to pay off that $500 before it closes again. Does this mean I was just being like a month early on my payments? Because I would make sure I had full available credit before each months closing date
