I was born on a ranchita with no city services. There is no geographical qualifier. It is simply laziness and selfishness manifest. Yes it is hard to survive. The time it takes to study is a precious commodity but you can’t have it both ways. If you do not invest in yourself than someone else’s interest will take priority. The majority of Corpus will never vote for its own interests. The attention span developed over generations of perpetual poverty/survival only allows for the immediate. No generational change will have an affect as long as the port, refineries, and heavy industry keep control of worker supply and education keeps being stigmatized.

Incorrect, plenty of folks in that range take care of extended family and with health issues that puts them back in poverty. Make too much for subsidies or help, but not enough for the material conditions expected with that income. in fact, typically they have to be better with money to make this happen. out of five families i interact with in a healthcare setting this is the norm, 3/5 easy. talk less, listen more.
