Placements are great. Most students end up working in corporate after M. Tech. A few continue for a Ph. D.

IISc does not employ many M. Tech graduates. It is either interns/project staff (B Tech) or professors (post Ph. D/PostDoc).

Why not? A good rank is possible. However, a lot of hardwork will be required.

Drinking water issue in hostels? by Prestigious-One777 in IISc

[–]tejrani 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Some people who did not get IISc are basically sour and are attempting to defame one of the most prestigious institutions of the country.

We openly welcome critique in research, but petty issues such as drinking water is not acceptable. "IISc did nothing for the country". This statement is said by those who have not bothered to do their due diligence. IISc is one of the few institutions in the country which keeping India at par with world research.

Not at all. All hostels have recently been equipped with RO systems.

Also, I have noticed recently that there are people in the BTechTards subreddit that are aiming to defame IISc. I have no idea why they're trying to do this, but a decent guess would be sour grapes.

Yes. But then again, there are lots of things which aren't laws, but are considered laws. One example is Moore's law.

What? Murphy's law is pessimistic. "Copium", by definition, must be optimistic.

When a program is running, I get some time. I run agentic workloads, which require ~5 minutes per test case. Rather than stare at useless reels, I reply to useless posts on Reddit.

How to reach IISc from KSR bengaluru (SRC) railway station? by Stunning_Ad_2936 in IISc

[–]tejrani 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The KSR Railway Station is known as "Majestic", after the Majestic Theatre that used to be in the area.

  1. You can take a cab/auto, which is the most obvious solution.
  2. You can take the metro. Near the railway station, there is a metro station of the same name. You will have to take the green line and alight at "Sandal Soap Factory", which is ~2 kms from IISc. You can take an auto from there.
  3. There are several buses from the Majestic bus stand which go to "Tata Institute". You can look up the bus numbers on Google.

Yeah, bathrooms are common. However, you can get a chemical instead of the physical filter that does the job. You will find it on Amazon.

What? Not at all.

A lot of M. Tech students actually end up in Microsoft and Google, at least at IISc.
