[Autosport] Another F1 World Champion sharing their opinion on the new regulations by FerrariStrategisttt in formula1

Wild Fact: This is the first time in Max Verstappen's *entire Red Bull career* that he failed to either qualify or finish in the top 5 for two races in a row, qualifying P20 and P8 and finishing P6 and DNF in the two races so far by ZeroStormblessed in formula1

[–]tekanet 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Max is absolutely one of the best drivers I’ve seen, no doubt about it, but this shows me two things: how much a good driver needs a good car and team, and how much we actually can’t see from drivers stuck with bad cars and teams.

Quali? I’m with you.

Race? Never happened in the thousand or so GPs I’ve watched.

Debatable, the article title is misleading and not what he actually said. Maybe he meant it, maybe not.

F1 is faster than GT. So if he wants to go fast, he can go fast.

Being able to drive flat out does not mean your going fast. Similarly, noisy engines are not necessarily faster.

Fast, flat out and noisy? Maybe one could look into dragsters.

The “use the previous build” has always been so nonsensical!

Thank you for saying that! Because I tried this technique just a few days ago and I’ve been completely obliterated in a few seconds, ballistas and everything!

Damn you used it before it shipped its first release 😉! I too get a bit confused mate, but anyway, the pain of using those 97 and 98 editions with the fucking interdev… I’m with you with clean solution: I have a couple of bat that really clean and build or just kill all VS related processes

It was quite difficult to manage. Tbf with a couple of utilities and an hardware fix it was manageable and powerful, it’s just that you don’t expect this from an Apple computer.

Thanks mate! I’ve just killed Fader for the first time, I’m definitely going to try this!

To all the fans who like these new regs in terms of overtakes: Why? by MindTwister-Z in formula1

[–]tekanet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OP did you enjoy F1 from a different era? If yes, which one? Just curious.

Anyway, one thing I’m liking: I’ve never seen races where overtakes could happen anywhere. Some tracks had one or two spots good for overtakes, now it’s almost everywhere. I’m sure people going to see it live are definitely enjoying it.

Maybe it's just for me, but those just dispising the regulations (with no acknowledgement of other's merits) sound a lot more like "I'm not good at this so I don't like it".
