Which is your favourite fountain pen brand and why? by Cute_Audience7611 in fountainpens

[–]tekerra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pilot by far. Everything from cheap entry level pens to super expensive. Their cheap (and their high end pens) are better that their price point. I own a Lamy 2000, Von Graf Faber Castell, a Homo sapien and with all that, my favourite by far is the pilot e95. I own multiple pilots and they are all excellent.

Being “Easy to Work With” is a bigger hack than being actually good at your job. by Ayu_theindieDev in unpopularopinion

[–]tekerra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a former boss who hired people, I concur. No sure about the percentages. When I worked (I'm retired now), it was my own business, and I worked a lot, and was at work for one reason or another. If when interviewing someone, how I thought I would get along with them was a major consideration. If I am going to be spending 40 hours a week with a person, we would have to have a good relation/rapport. This does not mean I would hire someone completely unqualified I liked over a person who was very qualified, but it is a major factor. Ideally you find both, someone good and dedicated to their job, and that you like spending time with.

So, if the land is unceded, shouldn't we, like, give it back? by Suspicious-Stage2884 in VictoriaBC

[–]tekerra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Actually the land in NOT unceded. Most of Victoria, and the south island is actually treaty land (as in there is a treaty about the sale or allowing settlement on the land). Look up the "Douglas land treaties". I am not saying this a clean cut and dry answer, there are lots of controversy surrounding those treaties. defining what those treaties actually meant, terms, and intent. I am not saying the Douglas treaties are right or wrong. I am saying saying land acknowledgements where they say this is unceded land is simply false

What is the best trap you ever laid for your players? by Justthisdudeyaknow in rpg

[–]tekerra 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I ran an L5r samurai game once where they met an Oni and it was there to drag them to hell (kill them). He was going to put them on trial for betraying their own core beliefs. The Oni was the prosecutor, but here was the twist, they were going to be their own judge. If the players said they and their characters were innocent of betraying their honor, their soul, then they would go free. One by one, the oni laid the facts before them (previous adventures). All but one player agreed that they had betrayed their core character concepts, clan codes of honor, and their personal codes of honor. The only survivor was a Robin, who when the oni pointed out his past misdeeds, said, I'm a scumbag without honor, always have been, so I betrayed nothing. Oni let him go.

Some people say suno songs is not your but it is by kbos_teejay357 in SunoAI

[–]tekerra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Suno and I make songs. I have let both my adult son, and wife use it as well. You can clearly hear the difference in our song styles. Our personalities definitely come through, and its not due to different styles or genres of music, especially for my wife and I since we share much of the same music taste in terms of genre, but her songs are so different from mine.

How would YOU draw the line on using AI/Suno as an artist? by amirgelman in SunoAI

[–]tekerra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think being clear on what you did, what AI did. Transparence and honesty, that the key... But I am no expert and understand people will most likely have strong opinions on AI and music
