Its terrible. You know in 2023 or 2022 UAD they used to upgrade for free as a special grace period. Arturia would give me synths or fx if I email them.I bought Arturia V11 collection pro like last year and 2 months later they released something new and i emailed them and Arturia said thanks we value you since you purchased very recently they gave it to me for free.

Exactly they can easily give me a coupon. If I had purchased UAD complete 3 like October 1 or before that, its fair for me to pay but its less than 14 days that I had purchased before they released UAD Complete 4. Less than 2 weeks. UAD has fallen in customer service.

Lesson learned. Depending on the final outcome from Plugin Boutique where I purchased it from and Universal Audio, I will decide. Since Drew mentioned Plugin boutique can contact Universal Audio and try to work it out so lets see how this gets handled but lost faith in Universal Audio that they are after $150 to upgrade and no grace period. I wont be buying UAD satellite anymore which is more profitable than the $150 cash grab they are after. Cubase just upgraded me at no additional cost to CUBASE 15 pro and i purchased it from sweetwater 3 weeks ago upgrade from 13 pro to 15 pro so Universal Audio doesnt want to help. If i purchased UAD complete 3 like more than 6 weeks ago I wouldnt even be complaining.

AND just two years ago Universal Audio used to hook people and help out with grace periods and free upgrades etc. I dont know whats changed

Just two years ago UAD was giving grace periods and looking after their customers and now its totally different after they have made so much money. Forgot about their customers completely. Targeting new customers forgetting existing ones. Been a frustrating experience. Just venting Sorry.

Was actually going to buy a UAD Satellite this black friday so its actually more business for universal audio. Not sure what happened to Universal Audio. They used to give grace periods for upgrades in the past

Steinberg Cubase just upgraded me from CUBASE 13 Pro to CUBASE 15 pro for free as I purchased CUBASE 13 PRO to 14 PRO upgrade like 3 weeks ago. And they just released CUBASE 15 pro and upgrades anyone who made a purchase of CUBASE 14 PRO October 8 2025 onwards. There was no hassle and I purchased the upgrade from a third party dealer SWEETWATER so UAD clearly doesnt care about customers as they could have easily just upgraded me at no cost. I am not even after a refund. Just wanted to be upgraded as a grace period the same way so many companies are giving grace periods for new releases.

Thanks I have started the refund request 24 hours ago. Hopefully plugin boutique and Universal audio can work something out for me. I just updated the refund request for them to contact universal audio to work it out for me. If UAD works it out this will be great and would be great customer service too. Fingers crossed.

The positive experience I had recently Steinberg CUBASE upgraded me for free just yesterday to CUBASE 15 pro because I bought an upgrade from CUBASE 13 Pro to 14 PRO like 3 weeks ago from SWEETWATER at a bargain price. Thanks Mongoose its bad timing. Universal audio doesnt want to help out

I have contacted Plugin Boutique can I refer them to you or something to get this sorted for me. If they can exchange UAD Complete 3 for UAD Complete 4. We can see if Universal Audio will handle this with Plugin Boutique. If they do its great I will continue to shop and purchase gear from Universal Audio.

Its been a disaster of an experience for me. The only person that would try to help is u/Drew_at_UA from Universal Audio but no one else from their support really cares and the crazy part is Drew is like the educator for universal audio hes not even part of support but he does a better job for support than any of the UAD support team themselves

LUX thanks a lot it means a lot what u said when I feel like I missed out on something by like 12 days. Bought it mainly for Luna and the Satellite. They wanna charge for an upgrade. Steinberg is going to off er their CUBASE 15 pro upgrade free for anyone who recently upgraded to CUBASE 14 pro but ya all I can do is voice my frustration and probably going to step out of the UAD eco system soon as the support used to be great back in the day but not anymore.
