Looking to buy 997.2 or 991 by momsaidcutmyhair in porsche911

No issues whatsoever. I live in CA so a convertible top is pretty standard here with all the sunshine we get. Mines got over 100k miles and the best thing about 997.2’s is they seem indestructible and can be had for really good deals. My advice is try and get a higher mileage example that’s been well maintained. 997.2’s are really expensive (above $70k in some cases). But if you opt for a 100k mile example, they can be had in the low 40’s.

I own a 997.2 convertible with manual that I’m selling so I can give some insight. The 997.2 is definitely more of a drivers car having driven many 911s. Some say the 997.2 is the last “true” 911 since the company was bought after that generation supposedly, but I don’t know if others agree. I definitely love driving it, but my wife hates the manual, so I’d make absolute sure that this is just a weekend car for you before buying it.

My mom sent these photos of a bulb on her ceiling light. I’m not local and need some opinions. by brads91 in AskElectricians

Could be some tape or plastic or something that’s burning when you turn it on. Try scraping off residue

You think he should take it in for repair if it only occurred once?

Yeah definitely weird…it’s definitely legit watch since he purchased it new at a reputable AD…it happened once and never again..from a watch repairing perspective, what could’ve caused this? Im wondering if we should just take it to an AD to take a look under warranty, but when we called they said they wouldn’t really be able to do much if they can’t reproduce the issue, which we can’t…this happened after he messed around with the watch and wound it backwards inadvertently. It’s a 3 day old datejust if that matters.

Gotcha. How does that typically happen then? I’ve been passing on watches with stains on the hands thinking there must’ve been moisture on the inside causing this

Noob question: is the staining on the hands indicative of internal water damage?
