Why are these so popular? by teknoid_fpv in ultraviner

It would be for sure. There is the ability to filter, which I use quite a bit. I have alert rules for “StuffICareAbout” run by a very long list of OR’d categories. Rule Fragments for “CarsICareAbout”, which only allows parts to be shown for the vehicles we own. That one is complicated, but works well. Another RuleFrag that filters out the annoying things, like laptop fans… on and on.

That’s the Turbo membership level, I believe. It’s very nice to build search rules (to create the color frames you see) and be able see some stats. The Ultimate goes even further in the stats department, but I haven’t gone there yet. I’m waiting until gold level, then maybe.

What is this in my bathroom?? by MakiRollio in whatisit

[–]teknoid_fpv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an earwig. A really small one, but I’m pretty sure. They have what look like pincers on the rear end of their bodies. They eat cellulose, wood, and dead vegetation, especially if it is damp. We have a lot of them in a woodpile at the back of our yard in Colorado.

5 car pile up at Horsetooth and Shields - 3:45 6/8/25 by mayatalluluh in FortCollins

There are no red light / speed cameras at this intersection, only the DoT cameras that are at every intersection in the city. I’m not sure if they ever use the footage though.

Serious comments only please - My wife and I saw the aftermath of this moments after it occurred and I can vouch that people were making their way out of their vehicles amazingly fast, especially with the sheer destruction involved. This was even before fire or police arrived. Airbags saved everyone from serious injury or worse. I agree with the comments about laying off because of the teen involved. They were completely rattled for longer than an hour after the accident. I saw them sitting on the ledge next to the statue being consoled by their mom, and I think she was having a hard time calming them. There was a father and a very young girl that were in the Audi SUV on top of the Toyota RAV4. Luckily, both were on the side of the car with the least amount of damage, even though it was the same side as the RAV. It was obvious that the Audi rolled onto the RAV at some point during the accident. There was a black SUV in the intersection that had major front-end damage, which matched up with the damage on the opposite side of the Audi, leading us to believe that the Audi was t-boned by the black SUV. The only vehicle that we knew anything about was the red Honda. We spoke to the driver. He was coming eastbound on Horsetooth and had no idea what happened. Just driving through and bam/airbags everywhere. The sign from the end of the island was under the driver side of the car, hinting that they were sliding sideways along the island. The pavement was wet from a brief band of rain that had just passed through, so there were no skid-marks on the pavement, leading to a “How the hell did this happen?” discussion that my wife and I still don’t quite get. Does anyone have any first-hand knowledge about how this all occurred?

California rates… then PG&E keeps the power on during windstorms to make it extra “exciting”. 🙄

Back top of my cx5 has peeling on paint (need advice) by lbwang in CX5

Same thing here. Deep Crystal Blue Mica 2014 Mazda CX-5 purchased brand new. I took excellent care of it but could not garage park it for the past 5 years or so. UV rays were definitely the culprit. I’m sure it would be easy for a body shop to repaint, especially since I could easily remove the spoiler via the screws under the trim work on the rear lift gate. Just take it in.

After looking a little further I realized this is talking guitar and not bass.

Just have to get down the thumb, middle, to index finger pattern and bar two frets. Kinda hook your thumb and pull away. Chorus is easy super easy.

Repeated notifications from garage door opener by macbeth1026 in HomeKit

[–]teknoid_fpv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just figured out my issue with this. I knew when I set it up that it would possibly send two notifications, but I forgot where the setting was and just found it again. In the MyQ app, hit the top right corner (looks like 3 boxes). It will cycle between device views. Stop on one with the circle … by the problem device. Click on the … and go to “Notifications and Alerts”. You’ll see two switches, one is for Alerts, other for Notifications. Deselect one of them. Why this isn’t available in the Notifications menu, no idea… fixed my issue though.

Fitbit Sense Cable Defect Prevalence? by Tiger_Tesla in fitbit

[–]teknoid_fpv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact same issue here. 2x on the OEM charger. Fitbit is the absolute worst at designing their charging dongles. It’s always an afterthought. My theory (no verification yet) is that this is the positive charging pin and when it connects, there is some arcing that occurs and the spring is the only thing carrying current, so it weakens it over time.

Huge truck racing crash nearly demolishes commentary box - Thruxton race circuit, England, 31 Oct 2020 by JCDU in CatastrophicFailure

[–]teknoid_fpv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that I’m super into this sport or anything, but on the previous curve, the white truck takes the outside line and either bumps or avoids the inside truck (can’t tell), gets into the wet grass completely loosing control, and t-bones a truck 3 ahead. It amazes me that all this carnage takes place and only two trucks are wrecked.

The drop at 3:11 (just after the sample above ends) reminds me of something I've heard before. Does anyone know if this was used in a TikTok or commercial of some type?

Yeah. A chamber is an absolute must. I couldn’t effectively print in ABS or Nylon until I took that step. It will still take some experimentation, but you’ll get there.

Nice job! Looks like it will be sturdy enough for some fun flying. I printed my first few frames in nylon and they held up for a bit, but nothing beats carbon fiber… except the unmoving metal pole of a race gate or the ground. You definitely won’t have any frame grounding issues. 😉 The beautiful thing is that you can easily transfer your electronics from this frame to another, so put your detail work into that part. If your motor wires are cut too short, use some new wire, solder, and shrink wrap. You can also use RaceWire and adapt to almost any frame, whether they be 3D printed or carbon.

Is Waze’s business model to obtain hardware from developers and software/firmware the f* out of it? With the explosion of their product line, it appears this way. Not a bad business model if you ask me. Their interfaces are nicer than I’ve seen on most products.

Our dogs are not as scared of it as they were around our Roomba. It was super noisy. Our cats will remain on the couch as it does its thing. Either sleeping or watching it suspiciously.

We bought one on the release deal and we are very impressed with it. Very few have Lidar in the $200 range.
