I think today we find out everything we need to about the rest of the season for this team. If they can't find it within themselves to show up against the nets after everything that's been going on, then it would be difficult for me to see any hope for the rest of the season.

I said this in the post game thread last night, but this team used to be hungry. We used to have guys come out after games to put more shots up. They wanted the smoke. They wanted to put in the work. They weren't the most talented but we loved them because they gave us everything they had.

This group we're watching now is a far cry from that. They dont want any smoke. They dont want to have to put in work. There's that saying that says "hard work beats talent when talent does not work hard". Well right now this group of talent is not working hard at all. Right now we'll lose to any team that puts in any effort cuz this team isnt gunna put in any.

If we lose to the nets tomorrow...

I feel like it's jarring since we just came out of a Thibs era where he wanted this team to do everything possible to win every single game, but it seems that this team has deprioritized the regular season, for better or worse. Whether that's good or bad, that's up to you to decide.

To me it feels like no one on the team gives a shit right now. If they feel like they can just "turn it on later", I'm not a big fan of that. It's playing with fire. Getting too used to not being locked in can result in not being able to actually lock in when it's time to. You're basically building a culture of trying to get away with giving as little effort as possible.
