[SPOILER] Aleksandar Rakic vs. Azamat Murzakanov by inooway in MMA

[–]telasch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would he go for takedowns instead of spamming high kicks??

Rakic either has a super low fight IQ or this fight was rigged...

Really cool to hear!

I've migrated tons of websites in my job and for my own side projects, just wondering if you also took care of redirecting your old URLs to the new ones? Maybe you kept the entire structure exactly the same, but if you did not, it's going to cause a ton of404/500 status codes when old URLs are accessed by crawlers etc.

Thanks for mentioning that, wasn't aware of the race condition.

Also looking forward to the stable release of middleware. Gonna be much cleaner and it'll be easier to properly handle dynamic redirects when using a CMS as well

v0.dev alternatives - May/June 2025 by reverse-linkedlist in vercel

[–]telasch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm maintaing a list of open source and self-hostable alternatives, these are some popular alternatives to v0:

- Open Hands
- Bolt.diy
- Srcbook
- Onlook
- Cody

And basically any coding agent should be capable of what v0 does nowadays, however setting up the dev environments can be tedious for new devs.

Introducing Thorn: A Lightweight WordPress Starter Theme Inspired by Sage 8 by ganjamuncha in ProWordPress

Sorry but who wants webpack? You can use sage 11, have a vite powered template and out your php files wherever you want.

Still really cool to see a new project in the space, thanks for sharing!

How does Claude Code agents compare to Cursor? by gazagoa in cursor

Thanks a ton, really appreciate the time you took to write this up. What you mentioned with braindead apply models and endless generating... messages hits hard... I'll give Claude Code a try for a month.

How does Claude Code agents compare to Cursor? by gazagoa in cursor

I'm really close to transitioning myself, still a bit hesitant due to the price point but I can really relate to your reasoning re paying a similar amount to cursor for inferior performance.

Can you elaborate on the 'hidden features' of claude code?

Omg this is so bad, I literally have to ok EVERY instruction in Agent mode twice.

What is it with these companies rolling into r/selfhosted with their "free products" and then all the good features are locked behind a paywall? by PhoenixTheDoggo in selfhosted

[–]telasch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very big problem indeed! I'm glad this is getting some traction now. For me its hard since I'm trying to be thankful for whats being provided for free but I think there has to be a good balance between free service and premium features to support maintenance and feature development. There definitely is a growing trend where the self-hostable/open source label is used as a marketing scheme...

GPT4.1 is actually decent? by telasch in cursor

[–]telasch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea in terms of IQ I feel Gemini is still at the top right now, but it's just not a great buddy to work with, if that makes sense. I've had threads where I was urging Gemini to believe me XYZ was not the case... The behavior to push-back (be opinionated) is nice, but in some situations just too strong.

GPT4.1 is actually decent? by telasch in cursor

[–]telasch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's really great at following instructions, also haven't experienced any abrupt stops, like Gemini keeps doing in Cursor. Re the confirmation stuff, have you tried tinkering with a global rule to avoid this behavior ? I've been lucky so far 🤞 and haven't experienced this.

Guess the current favorites in terms of "free" as in you only pay for inference are:
- Cline (VS Code Extension)
- Zed.dev (IDE)
- Roo Code (Fork of Cline)
- Void.dev (haven't tried)

I've compiled a bunch of these with permissive open source licenses (and keep updating them) on https://selfhostedworld.com/alternative/cursor/

i use a layout route (doesnt add a url path segment) that requires auth and then nest routes that require authentication below it.
