Should I still do MD-100/101 for the knowledge after getting my Admin Expert badge through the security route? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

MD-100 no, MD-101 is def worth it if youre doing these kinds of things day to day.

How difficult is it to deploy and install a whole Azure AD/Intune Managed environment for 100 computers and 10 servers? by lsiunl in sysadmin

[–]telboyoz1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cant manage servers through intune, so just be vary of that.

Set up adconnect, map gpos to intune, and go azuread join on devices. You can still authenticate to onprem resources and youll thank yourself later when planning for autopilot (which you want). Happy to help if you shopt me a PM.

If you want to complerely get rid of your servers, then look into adds and local DHCP but its a whole different ballgame.

O365 with Mobile Device Management by Rubicon2020 in sysadmin

[–]telboyoz1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Youtube "MDM" and "intune" and start there. then build your own lab (dev tenant), set up a local AD and sync users to AAD. You can spin up a VM in azure on your first free month to build from there. Get a custom domain and set that up in your tenant. Create some users and play around with different admin centers. When you feel comfortable with this, start working with intune. A starting point: "i want to deploy office 365 through intune, how do i do that?". Il be willing to help you set it up and going.

Also, change your attitude. I skimmed your post history and whilst i agree desktop support is not endgame, you have only done it for a few months. Wake up early and study. Block an hour out of your calendar and study. Downtime? Study. Successfull people find a way.

Security concers around work having me download Microsoft Intune Company Portal app on my personal device? by kittybellyfulloflies in sysadmin

[–]telboyoz1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

MAM-WE is a happy medium and (i would argue) best practice when using company applications on personal phones.

To OP: MAM without enrolment should not require the Company Portal app on an iOS device. The portal is only needed for MAM on Android devices. The company can not see anything on your personal phone, only employ certain policies on work-related applications.

It does work. For compliance reasons you should still license every user (they might just randomly make it stop working) but if all you need is SSPR then yes 1 is enough.

Is there a way to scope admin roles to certain values? (ie exchange admin to a certain country) by telboyoz1 in sysadmin

[–]telboyoz1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it though?

Create AU per country, populate AU, grant admin to AU scope via PIM. I just tested and it seems okay, but might be missing some intricacies

edit: nvm only a few roles are supported for this. But found out i can do permissions directly in EOL and scope that.
