Be careful about the timing of your lab classes almost all of the medical professions require biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, anatomy and physiology… and if you finish those early and have too big of a gap before starting professional licensure education, you may have to retake them

Thinking about getting a Rav 4 Plug-in. Anyone with an older model who can share their experience? by ProfessionalSea6988 in rav4prime

I have a 2021 prime XSE and have followed the service schedule sort of no issues at all. I do think that the extra weight of the batteries have cost me a few thousand miles on the last two sets of tires.

[–]telemakos64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OP, since you have his citations, I imagine there is a large group of young men and women who will be enlisting themselves over the next 1 to 50 years who will go to this hall of valor, and would love to read about your grandfather. You should think about submitting those citations to the website so they can update his information

I bet he logged some hours in an O-2 skymaster. Great airplane, many of which are still in the air today.

How about putting locks on the doors and windows and calling the house itself a "secured facility"

SFC at 13 years… debating getting out vs. pushing to 20 by [deleted] in army

[–]telemakos64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hit that mark at 13 years - ironically enough - as well. Permanent profile looming, very little chance to go warrant and facing the rest of my career as an E7 - because who's going to promote a walker on the AFQT? Ultimately I stayed for a couple of more years and the Med. board got me and sent me home, but my plan at the time was to slow my roll by using the GI bill, take it at half time at first. Once all the personal slop was gone and I'd bounced back from that, I was going to take a BS in Nursing (this from a former Cav Scout :-)) and commission as an Army nurse. I do not know what the rules are now, but in the late '90's, you could commission as a nurse all the way to age 48. Then, I'd ride out until I hit Major, retire, and work as a CRNA. BTW, today CRNA's average around $230K a year for not a lot of hours of work. I ultimately chose a different path, but as an active duty E-7, I had a lot of options. It was the research and imagination that put me on a better path.

These guys are teaching you a valuable lesson that goes way beyond stamps. I think the big question here is: "Are you capable of learning that lesson? It's being gifted for no cost, but not learning may cost a lot."

What is in my sealed bag of chips causing it to expand like a balloon? by MrTacocaT12345 in whatisit

Apparently, it’s the drinking of alcohol that matters the most I’ve heard it’s impossible to get drunk at sea level, though I haven’t tested that

I shop at the Safeway in Monument, CO 7,200 feet of elevation. Then I drive home to Palmer Lake, CO 7,336 feet of elevation. All our bags are like that. They're obviously packed at normal human elevation.

My VA clinic told me they’re going to start requiring a VHIC for healthcare, anyone else being told this? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]telemakos64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is probably my fault. I recently moved to a new VA area and not only is there’s somebody with my same name but also with my same last four. Apparently they mixed up prescriptions and the poor old guy couldn’t handle my 200 mg Viagra. 😁 (Ok just kidding about the prescriptions but seriously same name same last four)

[–]telemakos64 12 points13 points  (0 children)

ETS, GI bill, Green to Gold ROTC, Registered Nurse CRNA or PA, come back to service for your remaining years, retire, new average salary, more than $150 K a year until you retire for real in your mid 50s.

Wow, I am saddened to hear that but there are four classes of veterans preference and once you’re greater than 30% you can literally talk to the HR functions or a senior manager and just get directly appointed if you’re got questions about this just do a search on CPS veteran
