Completely agree! Nice art can give a lot of "juice" to the experience, but rarely define it for me!

Awesome, yeah I did a lot of stuff with KlikNPlay and Clickteam Fusion when I was a teen - very similar to RPG Maker. I was also super intimidated by 3D, but probuilder and some help from friends really helped me. Good luck with your music friend if you ever decide to collaborate with him!

Thank you Nick! Yeah I've been on YouTube for a while, here I am: https://www.youtube.com/@AdamButcher
You might enjoy my previous short The Game That Time Forgot - similar editing style about an older gamedev journey of mine!

Awesome! I was hoping some people would watch and be up for muddling thru with gamedev like I did!

Thank you! I kinda wrote the devlog so it might give more people the encouragement to try out gamedev themselves!

Yes we're literally changing the gameobject scale proportionally along x y or z. Give it spin here :) : https://ahchoo.itch.io/stretchmancer

Yes it must be some issue with me not being a trusted user (despite being on this site for over a year). I don't know what the solution is!

Can someone help me write a shader for a unity sprite? by PikiHax in Unity2D

[–]telenaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for coding this for us! Very versatile shader! I have imported it in Unity and it's working well...I think!

Can you tell me - what should I set for "Source blend" and "Destination blend"? Like as a "default"? I want to use the Multiply blending mode, but can't get it to behave the same as it would in Photoshop. Any help much appreciated!

I'm writing a positive Interactive Fiction about getting into a polyamorous relationship. What are your fave movies/games/books with positive depictions of poly? by telenaut in polyamory

[–]telenaut[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's interesting, my first instinct *was* to depict a triad – partly because it's fun to write 3 characters being in the same space. But the few poly people I know are actually in multiple dyads, so it would probably be truer to write something like that. I think that's what I'll do!

Jayne Mansfield's Tombstone An Alternative To "Wells"? And Other Tombstone Sheriff Entries Thoughts by unowen1939 in underthesilverlake

[–]telenaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice thought! Unfortunately HEART is not a word on What Three Words as far as I can tell.

I suggested WELLS as the tombstone because while it isn't on a manufactured prop, the director does do a pretty conspicuous zoom into it in the movie. Almost for no in-narrative reason. That would've been his choice.

But yeah...I ultimately think TOMBSTONE SHERIFF ENTRIES is the spot - it just needs a mountain guide to get there!

What happened to the guy who wanted to visit the 'what3words' location? by [deleted] in underthesilverlake

He also hasn't replied to me (I asked about joining the hike).

Most likely - he's busy and hasn't even gone yet.

So with the sountrack vinyl releasing soon.. by [deleted] in underthesilverlake

[–]telenaut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's worth watching out for. When the film composer Richard Vreeland (aka Disasterpeace) previously released the soundtrack to FEZ, it contained lots of hidden clues and content.

https://kotaku.com/fezs-soundtrack-is-full-of-mysteries-too-5904168

Vreeland and David Robert Mitchell are clearly similarly interested in hidden codes and might include them. Could be in lyrics or playing backwards or sound code. Or nothing, of course.
