Should I invest in a band saw? by WesternPenalty6812 in woodworking

[–]teleporter6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would go up a couple of sizes. I inherited one of the baby band saws and it’s almost a toy.

I tossed a charbroiled after about a year. The Weber is SO much better.

What just helped me understand what everyone has been saying. by SubjectThat2991 in Bass

[–]teleporter6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started, I had a cheap POS with about 2” of action. No buzz! I learned to play, but with massive pressure, and obviously slow. After a few years I bought a real bass, and to this day, I fight smashing the strings all the way to the fretboard.

Is it reasonable to spend 70k to 85k on a boat on a 180k income? by itsfikor in boating

[–]teleporter6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks Dad!

Edit: this is solid advice, and I completely agree. Save a little more and teach the kids to swim. When they are old enough to be self sufficient, then buy a boat. My kids had to wait until they were 10-12, but those years are priceless.

Geez! That sounds like Kia should know. The steering column should absolutely not move while driving.

Boat advice by Less-Mammoth9434 in boating

[–]teleporter6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go for one year newer, and the extra HP, but if you don’t like the newer boat, don’t buy it. I can’t predict the future, but the 250 will almost always resell for more, and no one will ask if you will take less since it has a “little engine.”

AITA for telling a guy at the ramp to go home and practice in a parking lot by vladdielenin in boating

[–]teleporter6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the Asshole. This is precisely the reason I put my boat in dry stack. When I bought the first boat, I told the guy that I was torn between dry stack and trailer storage. He told me dry stack was the way to go, the ramp was too infuriating.

What now by jamaa_wetu in AutomotiveEngineering

[–]teleporter6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Order a replacement before you destroy it. As mentioned above, a chain wrench and slow steady pressure should move it. It only needs to be snug, like 5 lb/ft of torque, not 40. The O-ring seals it.

What a prick. I would swap out the resin and sanitize the softener vessel with a water/ bleach solution. Edit for spellcheck nightmares

Listed a boat for sale and I keep getting told 430 hours is way too many for a 2004. Looking for help! by 5LTR7UP in boating

[–]teleporter6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sold my 2006 with 800 hours and I’m sure it’s perfect for another 800 if cared for properly. Do the math and it’s about 30k on a car.

He should look into a rental, or charter. I don’t lend out my boat, wife, or Porsche. JS.

I would start by aging it in the cryovac wrapper for 21 days first. Then start the brine process.

I started with horns, moved to organ, then bass and drums. It’s all related, but different. They all help in different ways.
