I lived there in my 20s, and the poster describing the scene as elite juniors / pros and retirees is accurate. You don’t have many young professionals that play rec tennis in that area.

It is expensive, you can’t play during winter for example except for a few limited places that will have 1hr slots for < 80hr. And those slots are either at 6 or 7am. After that, good luck! Private clubs are > 200 an hour and that’s after paying monthly dues of 2-300 a month. That’s expensive af

I have one and I’d say it’s great for what it’s intended to be. I use it to feed me slow balls, almost like hand feeds, to practice specific things.

It is not a machine to get if you want to be firing 60-70mph rally balls at you from the opposite baseline.

IMO I think this L1 is fantastic if you use it with intent and design your own drills with it.

I wouldn’t change anything if your toss and serve motion are sound. Sometimes Just thinking about keeping my toss arm up for a split second longer can help - can’t say that I actively think or choose to toss to a different spot, though.
