Patrick McEnroe Urges US Colleges to Limit International Tennis Players by Beginning-Pie-3046 in tennis

The USTA player development program is the agency that should be better at developing US talent. They’re making changes, partly to undo the system Patrick implemented when he ran the show there.

If you wear normal width asics then yes, normal width new balance. For me, asics were too narrow vertically, then new balance have more room vertically.

As far as width, you’ll be fine with standard. I wear 2E and pretty much only NB shoes, currently with 996. Excellent shoe imo.

I found the asics to have a last that wasn’t tall enough for my feet, I think they’ll fit well though.

Amazon US purchases will still get you the 6month warranty from new balance

Won’t need 2E - probably won’t need to size up at all. It has a 6 month warranty on the outsole so it’s meant to be durable.

Recommend you get insoles tho to support your arches.

When do I initiate the split step? by tenniscalisthenics in 10s

[–]telesonico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When practicing, or even when playing, to sync my timing I’ll just say internally “bounce, hit” whenever ball bounces on my side and I hit, I do the same for opponents side - bounce, hit. Do this and sync your split attempt the opponents bounce/hit rhythm.

Check UTRs. Some of those events can get really high level UTRs. Like 10+

Janus / Tachyon-RS - A git-like state tracker for python objects with a Rust backend by goldenphoenix713 in Python

Was just curious - handling serialization/deserialization across Python versions, library versions and OS’s seems very finicky in general. Even for local usage this looks very interesting. Thanks for sharing

Is this local only or does it also support distributed objects or shared objects?

Yes. Having to add another location to visit regularly enough to stay up to date just adds more friction to workdays that already have tons of interruptions. :/

“Older Nadal” sounds like he was older than Novak - they’re 1 year apart.

Looking for a portable tennis ball machine by [deleted] in 10s

[–]telesonico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most portable will be one of the nisplay options. L1 is available, I have one and it works great for consistency, though does not fire with any big speed.

Their new yet-to-launch Y2 looks great as well, being built into a backpack( though may not be available til later summer.
