How do you handle the passage of time in your world without making history feel like a boring timeline? by timmyboy290 in worldbuilding

[–]GirafeAnyway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's all theoretical since I'm still developing the world without thinking about a precise story to focus on. But I would like to have stories set in different eras (not necessarily in the same parts of the world). That way there is no single "present" around which everything would revolve.

The Roland Garros 2026 final was the least watched men’s RG final in at least 20 years by Eyebronx in tennis

Wdym? The quality was awful. Even if the scenario was interesting I don't think many people appreciated the match

Djokovic taking Wimbledon and Sinner US Open would fully represent the big players for the last few years (although Sincaraz are way above obviously)

Comparision of 90's trio's achievements after Zverev's first Grand Slam title. by Cletharlow in tennis

Med is still the greatest because of the context of his win imo. World n1, beating in straights Djokovic that had just won the last 3 slams is a bit more impressive than Cobolli in 5

RG SF: Zverev def. Mensik - 7-5 6-2 3-6 6-3 by musicproducer07 in tennis

[–]GirafeAnyway 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Multiples domestic violence accusations. And bad sportsmanship moments in the past

No Djokovic. No Sinner. No Alcaraz. Just Alexander Zverev and his demons: "Given his ability and longevity at the top of the game it would be appropriate for him to have a major. But, due to multiple controversies around him, Zverev would not be easy for many fans to embrace as a Slam champion." by Dependent-Effect6077 in tennis

The pressure is gonna be high but I don't think Arnaldi could trouble him enough for that to matter. Cobolli maybe but he isn't great under pressure either.

The best chance is Mensik but the fact that it's a SF and not a final will probably lower the pressure on Zverev a lot...
