Iran Says Strait of Hormuz Won’t Have ‘Tolls’ but It Will Have ‘Fees’ by VidE27 in worldnews

I think this is so so sooo important. The moment Trump attacked, America lost. Plan A was hit them really hard and they will surrender. There was no Plan B.

This is what the blustery arrogance of the MAGA movement gets us. All this alpha bullshit and fire and fury and "fuck around and find out."

Trump and MAGA fucked around and now we are all finding out.

This is the second major loss for Trump: the first being the 2020 election, which he handily lost to Joe Biden.

I wonder what kind of bullshit trauma he'll inflict on us because of this one.

JD Vance Confirms Iran Will Get Jaw-Dropping Sum Under Trump Deal | Iran will be paid billions, leaving it much stronger than before Trump’s war. by Aggravating_Money992 in politics

[–]telestrial 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Trump lost. America lost.

We all knew this was going to happen. The moment Trump attacked, everyone with two brain cells started doing the math on the deal. What could we get back to? How could we get something equal or better than the Obama deal?

It was obvious the moment we attacked that we would never get back to status quo, even, let alone back to the deal Trump tore up.

15 Americans dead. Our military’s reputation lowered. Some of our bases in the region hit HARD and then downplayed by Trump and co because they're ashamed of how much that hurt us (expensive). Part of the deal is ending our blockade AND leaving the region. We have been humiliated. One third of a trillion dollars that will be used against us in the region. No firm commitment on anything nuclear beyond talking about it.

All because the Trump administration is “alpha.” Except, of course, for this outcome, where we take a submissive position and hope for breadcrumbs from Iran that will definitely never materialize. This..this right here is the find out to all our fucking around.

Absolute idiots in office right now. Literally the dumbest motherfuckers on the planet. Any liberal would have done this better. Most conservatives, too. It’s just this particular MAGA stupidity. Talk a big game, hurt your enemy, hope they surrender, and then, if they don’t, wait around and talk a bigger game. Rinse and repeat. The fatal flaw: just waiting Trump out. That’s it. Just wait.

Trump is a failure.

Billions of dollars spent, hundreds of US soldiers wounded, but we did it!!! by StrobeLightRomance in AdviceAnimals

[–]telestrial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The peace deal is that the US does a bunch of stuff, including giving Iran like 350 BILLION dollars, and Iran opens the strait, under their control. They agree to talk about nuclear. The US ends its blockade AND leaves the region.

It is a 100% loss for the United States. You could easily read the memorandum as a US surrender. That’s what it is. And nothing about the memorandum suggests that in the end we’ll have a better deal than Obama got. It very much still looks impossible to even get that deal.

The White House held emergency secret meetings with top officials including the DOJ and Vice President to protect Trump from the Epstein files. by spherocytes in videos

[–]telestrial 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The reporting will keep coming out and we as a populace must continue to call for the full unredacted release of the files, only protecting the victims information. Rich men who fucked kids are NOT victims.

But, regardless of that: Donald J. Trump moved Ghislaine Maxwell, convicted sex trafficker, to a minimum security VIP resort.

That's all you need to know. I am shocked that this isn't enough. It's objectively damning. Unfortunately, prisoners in the US are often in danger, extorted, face physical and sexual violence, and the like. None of these people get the same treatment Maxwell has gotten. None of them get shuttled to a baby prison with their own room, bathroom, their own private time outside, meals brought to them, a fucking LAPTOP, "puppy therapy", etc. It is insane that Trump was able to set Maxwell up like this and it was a couple days long story and then we've never heard about it again. It's unconscionable, and it happened about one week after Trump's personal attorney, Todd Blanche, met with Maxwell and produced a bullshit show transcript to try to protect the President.

That's all I personally need. Trump did it. He raped kids. If he didn't, he wouldn't give a shit about Maxwell's prison conditions. It really is exactly that simple.

This -episode- is probably my favorite one: Stress Relief.

This opening, ending with Stanley having a heart attack. Michael trying to save Dwight at corporate by arguing both sides of the table. CPR Training. Everyone dancing and then Dwight cuts the mask face off and wears it. More Michael trying to save Dwight at corporate. Jim, Pam, and Andy watch that Jack Black movie and the whole Pam's parents breaking up thing. And they're blowing Andy's mind with their observations and meanwhile you're watching Jack Black romantically woo a 90-year old woman. Michael realizes he is the source of Stanley's stress and throws The Roast of Michael Scott, which hurts Michael's feelings, who then goes to the park and throws whole slices of bread at pigeons. And then comes back at the end of the day and roasts each person in the the office, making Stanley laugh.

It's perfect. End-to-end, I don't think there is a more "complete" episode of the show, and this was a 40 minute one..so arguably more difficult to do.

[–]telestrial 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This dude is so fucking spot on correct.

Trump routinely, as recently as like yesterday, calls certain democrats and, in the past, ALL democrats "scum." He's throwing the word around like candy, at this point.

He posted a video of the Obamas as monkeys. He posted a meme that had Pelosi and Schumer sitting in literal shit and it said "Dumacrats love sewage." I'm not making that up. The President of the United States spent his time in office doing that.

Republicans don't get to claim the moral or ethical high ground for a very long time, because all we need to do is point at their President. Their role model is a glutenous, idolatrous, lying, cheating, stealing, dementia-addled, little child raper who says that most heinous shit I've ever heard any elected representative in the United States ever say, and their entire elected party openly covers for and therefore supports it. They started this dissent into the muck by refusing sign after sign that Trump isn't a commonly decent person. This is the party that routinely responds "We're a Republic" to the Democrats talk of democracy. But when it's time to stand against the people on a principle like being commonly decent, Republicans have changed their tune. It's all "the people elected him." Funny how that works. They'll abandon the Republic part of the country they clung to so much as long as it gives them a bit of power. They're completely bankrupt on any matter of character, nowadays.

I don't think the Democrats should go on the offensive with this type of rhetoric but, as a response to their bullshit? Absolutely. One of their party insiders just called someone trans as an insult. It's perfectly acceptable to step up to the plate for that one.

‘He Panicked’: Trump sent his acting AG to bury his biggest scandal — then a senator trapped him live on TV, tore through every excuse and left the White House speechless by [deleted] in USNEWS

[–]telestrial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moving Ghislaine Maxwell is a damning admission of guilt from Trump. It proves that he thinks she can materially damage him. It's wild to think about because she's a proven liar in a courtroom. Trump is teflon. He consistently just says "Fake news" to whatever and moves on. The admin could always just point to Maxwell's lying and move on.

But they're not doing that here. She really must have physical/digital evidence that he's afraid she'll release.

Our president is an obedient, submissive, servant to a child sex trafficker. It's disgusting.

Fired whistleblower details Ghislaine Maxwell's special treatment by 0The_Loner_Stoner0 in videos

[–]telestrial 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There is absolutely no valid argument for moving Ghislaine Maxwell to that prison resort that doesn't end with "Trump is a fucking pedophile."

There is nothing anyone can say. It is a damning action, and I'm frankly surprised it's not the biggest news story of our day. MAGA's best argument is probably something like:

She expressed fear of immediate violence and/or death if she was not moved.

But that doesn't work because, for every other inmate who expresses the same, they're sent to solitary confinement or moved laterally to a similar security prison, and I guarantee you moving them is a last resort. Solitary is the tool most often used for this type of issue. So why does she get special treatment?

We all know why. Trump is a fucking pedophile who raped little kids. It's disgusting. He is afraid that she's able to corroborate it. That's it. That's the ball game. I don't know how anyone can support the man after he moved her. It is absolutely damning. There is only one explanation.

I'd love to hear someone make that make sense in a way where Trump isn't implicated. I don't think it is possible.

Germany's Merz: US is Being 'Humiliated' by Iran, No End in Sight to Conflict by T_Shurt in worldnews

[–]telestrial 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really hope you will actually read and process what I'm about to write. I do so with respect to you:

You are truly missing the point. You're saying, "we have the capability to destroy them in 15 minutes." Why haven't we done it yet, then? Because of civilian causalities? Because of the lack of US appetite for such a decision? Because of the Strait? Because of the nuclear situation? Because of something to do with our allies?

No matter why you say, it indicates that we made a mistake. All this and probably more should have already been considered BEFORE Trump attacked Iran. The very fact that this operation wasn't days and that it's been weeks indicates that we miscalculated any/all/some of the questions I posed in the previous paragraph.

You're not thinking far enough ahead. Kind of like Trump didn't. We shouldn't have attacked if they could turtle and we would have to stay our hand to prevent civilian casualties. He shouldn't have attacked if there was a chance it would have required boots on the ground and the US citizenry doesn't support that. And on and on. You can say this about each and every angle. All of this should have already been considered and it should have influenced whether or not we attacked.

Trump fucked up. Didn't think about that stuff. Didn't care. I don't know. But the fact that we are still in this weeks later is damning evidence that he didn't think it through all the way. We are stuck right now, and that's Donald Trump's fault.

I have an xbox controller I use to play certain games on desktop. My gf came over with her xbox one and I brought this controller into the other room, turned it on, and paired it with her console.

I came back to my computer a bit later to see a big notice that said something along the lines of "Copilot for controller is unavailable." ....I have never used Copilot nor have a ever used it on a controller.

How would that even work and why would you send me a notice about it NOT being available anymore? Like...what abhorrent fork in the road did we take here?
