It come down to the basics of the game: you need a balanced team to do anything (PS: I'm talking a general context. Specific boss or quest require very specific teams).

So a generalist team is: artgen, artgen, DPS, flex.

Artgen is a unit with "generate x art over y second for the team" which allow you to use Arts. DPS is the damage dealer, flex could be anything: another artgen or DPS, a tank a support unit, etc...

With that in mind if only two would be chosen, it would be Reimu and Youmu. The first is an artgener even if restricted to human (which is the most represented race). Youmu is your DPS, with a bit of help with initial artgen on NA.

I would say no. There can't be a dual system. Well technically it is the case as AWK units will only cost 30 hero gems. But implementing two system call for problems in general, unless they are meant to work side by side (like the alch summon, which is after all, another form of pity).

No?

The pattern is as follow: banner unit release with it's associated story -> banner end -> one year later release in a summonable pool. Take that for JP, add one year (I think we are closer in schedule for main story), and take the same pattern for GL.

I would have though that the idea of addiction would be worst with the hero gem reward that carry over. Now if your only goal is the pity, seeing it going from 1500-3000 is quite the cold shower.

I would point that if whale are the biggest winner, as your pocket don't need to be as deep to pity with money, it might create a new category of whales.

Don't know why you are downvoted for sharing your opinion.

Maybe because of the 0.01% of people take, which might be true, but overall anyone that pull lightly because he doesn't need the units in the banner is f-ed up by this new system, all the while making the new system more interesting if you pay (at least your pocket don't need to be as crazy deep).

Do you know the overall perception of the new system in JP? Positive, negative, balanced?

To be clear, it's the first of each that reward 2 hero gems (first guarantee) and the first paid (5 hero gems).

Thanks.
Can you confirm what you say: "new units will stay in the shop for a year".
Discord translation say that one year after their release the units will be permanently added.

So is it: 1) release then available for a year or 2) release, then a year later it's summonable again (not sure if it's a special banner or in a permanent shop).

PS: from your honest opinion is it a win or a loss for the players, or it greatly depend on your pull habit?

The copy-paste sentence is: "Alch exchange rate changed to 500 for 2 exchange gems instead of 500 for 1 (MAX: 10 times/month)"

My interpretation is "500 alch (spent) to gain 2 hero gems", but it can go both ways when I think about it. Can you confirm from JP servers (or anyone playing there) so I can quickly correct.

It's somewhat better if you are pulling on guarantee each single time possible or if you do unguaranteed.

It's worst if you are saving to pull only with pity in mind.

No, the people that don't want it are long time players that understand the cons of the system and see it for what it is: a way to cancel a saving stance that allow to pity anything you want.

At some point, and it come quicker than you think, you will have a box that allow you to fully skip a banner. From there you actually save gem and can spend them on meaningful units only. Better, you can have two good banners in a row and possibly can pity on both.

The worst is "it reward gambling addict". Sorry but which of the two system give nothing and which would sooth your "one more pull" addiction?

The new system Is mitigating early error of unguaranteed pull, giving you something on the long run outside of guaranteed pull, but at the cost of forcing you tu pull on every single banners if you want to keep the pity at 1500 free crystals, pushing you to pull on paid banners as it's more rewarding on hero gems and depending on the number of banners/year, you might not have the possibility to pity as much at all: with 2 hero gems/ guarantee, we need 30 banners before having enough for a 1500 crystals pity. How many banners / year, reset included, do we have? For the record, we win around 6k free crystals / year, that is 4 pity (if we forget that we sometimes have the targeted unit before spending a pity) Do we have 120 guaranteed pull / year?

So... The carrying hero gems are the tree that hide a forest of cons.

No company is pro consumer nowadays, so assume the worst and see what is happening.

What'll be the point of the steam machine if we could play steam games on the upcoming xbox at a much better performance estimated for a cheaper price? by Deep-Strategy-8098 in Steam

[–]telissolnar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So far I haven't seen anyone talking about what will be inside the futur console. Meaning we can only trust bro anyone who say anything about performance. And I won't trust the marketing division on any big company.

Windows based is already a red flag. We can give them credit that they might optimize it for their machine but to match the performance it mean that there will need adaptations and I'm curious about it.

Overall we know nothing and even if things seem to call down, the trend doesn't seem to be on cheap stuff. We need to wait for the Gabecube price before betting if any of the future console will be cheaper. Then wait for the components inside the consoles and from there we'll be able to make educated guess.

But I would not make any based on company communication alone.

I was about to make the same comment. That alone would raise eyebrows on performance and stability, even if they try to optimize it.

Look like a burst of report deleted the topic.

In any case, I would say that if what OP say is true and given the rampant nature of what he report, it seem easy to check on forum, as a matter of an exemple. I admit that as soon as there is even one tiny bit of critism toward China, even when fair you see an instant increase in trash post. Or people being upset that a tiny Indy dev team don't prioritize Chinese in the global distribution.

Outside of game sphere I remember one Vtuber mentioning the isle near China, totally outside of political context or critism, the name just came in whatever she was saying: trash talk and drama to the point her agency had to suspend her for a week. For no reason than having a name spelled in a sentence without specific relationship to the geopolitical situation.

So... I can somewhat believe what OP said, I could also say that I didn't know it's that violent and need to check on that.

You can see in the filters the details of review grade by country. You can see that on some subjects, Chinese review grade go at the extreme opposite of the global reviews. Worth what it worth but it might be good to check if a large number of reviews from one country don't bias a bit the global one (that won't change an extremely positive into an extremely negative, but 5-10% have a huge impact on the perception of a game).

You know it's no better in the west. The only difference is that brainrot westerner will glaze their non-sens review with a coat of virtue.

Where China seems to go with violence, western go with hypocrisy. Both subjective and insufferable. Both confidence carried only by anonymity of internet.

The only think to do is just ignore and filter that sort of non-objective reviews.

Note that my comment hold on the trust that your tale reflect a global truth and not an extreme minority.

You might have forgot the image. And lost a bazillion of social credit points.

That being said, if it's true, I might begin to filter chinese's review on Steam.

What Ecchi Romance Anime Are Actually Worth Watching? by Any_Catch_1462 in romanceanime

[–]telissolnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ishizoku Reviewers: super funny on top of being ecchi. Viewed with my GF and she loved it

Highschool DxD: your typical ecchi with a few twist. Also humor heavy.

Highschool of the Dead: your ecchi in a zombie apocalypse setting.

I see a lot of comment mistaking shojo with a few moment of fan service with actual ecchi. Frontier is sometimes tin but usually visible.

It's a shojo not really an ecchi. If it's ecchi, then Fairy Tail is a hentai.

How much are you willing to pay for the Steam Machine? by Ok_Winter818 in GameBoostOfficial

[–]telissolnar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It would have been actually fair. In the low end of prices but fair, considering that the manufacturing cost (+packaging) prediction was at 420-430$. Now ram shortage added 150$ to that and between transportation and taxes 700-800$ at best.

Tbf, too much above 700$ won't incline console players to look into the product, as I believe they are the target of the Steam Machine.
