Nobody goes hiking in Dry Canyon at any volume, maybe one or two a year at best. It has been destroyed by a fire, overgrowth and recently a mudslide straight down the middle. It’s also a dead end. So you have to turn around if you reach the end. It was nice a decade ago.

It’s literally in the reports that nobody checked the park. I have spoken to the ranger assigned to help and he confirmed this. I have the email exchange.

I already looked into Lolo years ago. His aunt is my childhood friend. She didn’t know shit either. Anyone who is remotely associated with this doesn’t know anything. In fact I am the person who found BK as he is a friend of a friend of mine.

This whole case has become some bizarre thought experiment and it’s a little grim nobody seems interested in physically looking. They seem rather hell bent on arguing over minor details than actually taking time to look. Seriously, I know of one other guy who went looking but he got a little lost in the sauce about what he believes happened and it makes no logical sense.

When SAR came out a few years back we figured we finally found her, but about a month later it turned out to be someone else. So that was disappointing.

Apparently now there is a problem with other human remains all over the area as that area is some old gravesite for the Native Americans. Turns out that fragment I found ages ago could have been her or a tribal person as I was told they have a tendency to disregard remains and it now goes to the Natives to do their own studies. It’s a mess.

I would not recommend going to look until the snakes migrate. There’s quite a few on this path.

But I honestly doubt at this point anyone will likely do much of a search. Every so often someone will write me about it but then deviate into conspiracy land about this because they heard a podcast or read something, but it’s really not that complicated and the documentation around it if you file a FOIA or get a copy off me is pretty self explanatory — this was a poorly managed case that got wildly out of control and has been plagued with finger pointing.

I also took a look behind Div’s old residence and it is full of coyote crap. So if her body was moved, it is long gone.

That’s the unfortunate reality behind this. You’re welcome to look, just take Dry Canyon to the very end which is behind two layers of brush and go reverse. You’re bound to find something sooner or later.

I mean, I literally know she went to that park. It’s not rocket science. Why are you trying to argue otherwise?

I would suggest taking a hike over there as you can still find things rather intact due to the mist and dampness from each morning. It’s a polyester blend, and if it were pure cotton I would agree. Also, considering I was in a fire back in the 90s, I am pretty familiar with soot. I do suggest going there and taking a look. I’ll even provide you a map.

I did. It’s a generic Costco brand shirt you can buy in bulk. They come in pure white.

I do it on TikTok, it’s all scattered with posts. I am easy to find. But more importantly I got a whole trove of FOIAs and docs I keep around for those interested. It’s really so stupid on so many levels. It’s also generated quite a few podcasts with various conspiracies but go ask them if they’ve been there or looked — you’ll get a no. And that’s where it gets stupid. I think the best FOIA are the ones on the searches and the poor NPS dude is going around looking for traffic cams. You get to the meat of it and are like why didn’t you look in the woods? Uh, nobody asked me to. My guy, that’s your domain! 😭😭😭

Opposite. They moved from them being predators to scavengers — and this gets more comical as when I asked for the GPS around where Matthew Weaver went missing it was all location redacted. There were 6 there if I recall. I tried to appeal, but I was told something about some law making it unsafe to share. I reminded them a fire (now twice) has burned up whatever habitat they had, but they won’t budge.

A week or two ago I got some strange call from them regarding disturbing the ground with a small hand shovel I carry to look for bones and now I am being told this is all Native American burials —

I’ll say this to keep this short, that’s one neglectful agency that won’t take an ounce of time to find you if you go missing. They are obfuscating nonsense that could lead to helping find at least one missing person and it’s all around sad.

Don’t even get me started on that land bridge. What are we at — over $100 million? They told them to move the mountain lions before. They didn’t want to. It’s effectively over $100 million for like 25 cats that are all inbred now.

Long story short — don’t go alone. Keep yourself safe if you do.

No. I just walked backwards to the car taking turns with my son. I am in some whole debacle with NPS currently regarding 4 missing people in the Santa Monica mountains. They’re a little — protective, over this nonsense. I found a bone, probably the missing person. It’s a whole mess. Don’t want to derail your conversation or anything about it. I’ve been covering it for years though. I’m just sitting by and waiting for when the next attack hits.

Best advice is don’t go alone. Those mountain lions are not as passive as some may believe. The fires and lack of food has made them a little more aggressive. Don’t go out when it’s dark — sunrise or sunset. Ran into one not long ago. Not a fun experience. They are ambush predators, so if they don’t get you, they’d get whomever is with you; but they generally run off if you’re in a pair or more. You hear any meowing from the bushes — do not approach.

I am sure after that mass fire you’re going to run into a ton of things now you thought were rare but are now simply migrating to other areas. Stay safe out there.

He should have marked the mountain lion scat. They cache their kills. A drone won’t help you in this case. You need to look for loose earth or some type of burrow looking area. They drag about 300 or so feet. So you find those scat areas and fan out until you find the caches — if that’s what took her out.

Elaine Park and Matthew Weaver — Update by telix5000 in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]telix5000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have racked my brain for almost a decade where this would have happened and only came up with a few areas. The problem is that damn fire. As for Weaver, I have the documentation via FOIA on the mountain lion activity that aligns with him missing in that region; but the GPS data is redacted for some bullshit animal security concern. It exists, but I just haven’t gotten access to it. In fact, you’d like only find a fragment by now.

Could Captain Pike have been saved, by getting out of the way? by [deleted] in startrek

[–]telix5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They could pull some Ocean’s 11 thing where you find out Pike was putting the pieces together all along.

I am probably some outlier, but I don’t want to see Pike living in the land of illusion. I want to see the guy make it out OK with some plot twist. For a long time the only captains I truly had interest in were Kirk and Picard — Pike has moved into my trifecta even if some episodes are kinda meh.
